I've been in shorts for about a month now. This week the polo shirts have been changed for t shirts. Crazy that people expect a form of dress at work, not visible to customers, that makes you hot and uncomfortable. People work better when they are comfortable so why mess with that?
I wear shorts as soon as it’s about 16 degrees. Being comfortable when working makes you more productive and is safer.
As far as shirts go, I find a short sleeve collared shirt is cooler as the button up front allows better venting, and I never do the top 2 buttons up….like a Greek gigolo??

I hope you are throwing on a thick gold chain to complete the look ?

Extreme heat alert from this weekend to Tuesday.
We might even break the record of 38.7C.

But I know what it's like at 42C (Perth, Australia).
I'm 72 and severely asthmatic but I still like a challenge.
No way am I staying indoors. I might even try a bit of jogging and cycling.

I don't know if it's just me - my wife was saying "how can you even think about playing golf when it's 30+ degrees" but I find it's more unbearable sitting around the house in that heat. Out on the golf course in the open air where you can actually feel what minimal breeze there is, I find it more pleasant.

I agree. Get air into you lungs by going outside.
As long as you have enough water it's fine.
I visited Ayers Rock in the centre of Australia. Temperature was nearly 40C.
Most people stayed on the bus. I walked around the rock but a Swedish guy about the same age as me actually ran around it. About 3 miles.

I do find sleeping when it's hot difficult at times. Fans don't lower the temperature much and they make a noise.
Do a bit of yoga might help, as could massage at the base of the ears (acupressure points).

Pedestal fans are crap but ceiling fans work quite well. We’ve turned the aircon on now at night here. Mid 20’s through the coolest part of the night, and the fan struggles to keep us cool.

On the subject of fans... pedestal/desk etc Just look at the blades; those with the thinner 'prop plane' style blades are far noisier than the much rounder ship style blades which are pretty quiet

A month? Coming on 2 and half years for me, a benefit of WFH. Put some jeans on the other week when going out for a family meal and I won't be making that mistake again in a hurry. Have been using my golf shorts for the last 2 restaurant visits.

Only place I wear trousers is on the course due to all the bloody horse flies. Tried shorts at the weekend again and have 3 bites on my calves.

Rudebhouys mate last Saturday got bitten on his arm on about the 3rd hole. A sharp bite and it really affected him. He even went a bit light headed for a while. Nasty little blighters.

I never notice the bites until the next day when I notice I've got a large red itchy spot. Think it was 2 years ago I had one that got infected as it was hot to the touch and big red ring around it. Took a few weeks to clear up and was still pretty sore to the touch a couple of months later.

Hate the things, dunno if you can get a cream or spray that will keep them away. Maybe need to look into it.
