I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

Our 12th today, nobody played on it, nor the adjacent 11th.
In fact nobody played on any of the course as it was closed. The rest of the course wasn't too bad, but the paths were treacherous.
Please thaw by Tuesday...... Please.

We are still covered by a few inches of snow. Guy I play with is hoping to play Wed.....can't see it. It will be Tuesday before the snow gets melted, and I have doubts about that......everything will be a mushy mess until at least Friday.

I didn’t play yesterday, but I did go to Ferndown for a putting lesson with Oli Leett organised by the county for the county seniors squad. Ferndown looked to be in great condition. Full greens and tees and no mud on their shoes when they left the course. Off to play our mud fest now. 🤬

We did have a foursomes match booked in, but decided to postpone it so it wouldn't be a lottery on the frozen greens. Friendly match against my partner instead, him giving me 4 shots.

I pretty much smashed him. After losing the opening hole, I played very well while he very much struggled with the conditions. He was unlucky at times but I managed the conditions well and won six holes in a row to go 5 up after 7. He recovered to be 3 down after ten, but I won eleven and twelve to get it straight back to 5 up. He threatened a comeback by winning the par 3s 14 & 15 but I won the 16th to take a 4 & 2 victory.

I even parred the last two holes after that for a gross 85 and 33 points. Only three doubles and no blobs. Absolutely delighted with that on a frozen course! My driving was very much improved after my work on Tuesday in trying to shorten my backswing. That's definitely the way forward. Putting was unreal as well, had 30 putts in total for the round - sank some fantastic putts on the back nine to kill my mate's hopes a few times.

Pro shop comp today, singles Stableford and played with a couple of mates. Forward tees so I had to play off +1. Not hit a ball for 3 weeks so I wasn’t expecting much of a score. Shot 4 over (31 points) with no blobs so not too bad. Had a 2 so should at least get my money back. Would have been a couple of shots better but for the greens being sloooow so I left a few putts in the jaws of the hole.

Capts Drive in

2 clubs and a putter

Went with my normally 3 rescue and 8 iron

Course frozen solid so was a lottery 3 over at the turn

Back 9 finished 2 birdies in the last 3 for a level par

33 points was a decent return

Winner was 44 points off 27 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I couldn't believe that score, it's absolutely mental.

I finished on 30 points. Went with my trusty 4h, PW combo.
