I played the front nine today 1 over.....should have been level or under....
then from 15 feet on the 10th I three putted, to say I was livid would be an understatement.

got to the 13th made a double from a good drive....then another bogey from a good drive....

made double on the 16th from 50 yards.....not happy.

great drive down the 18th, debated whether to hit a 6 iron but went with 7 iron as long is not good,
flushed it and was long....bloody bogey to finish...

You got to love golf.

Played well today and record number of birdies for my course.

Main aim was to decide which of 3 clubs was losing a place in the bag. Between 5 iron (26), Hybrid (24 set at 25) and fairway (23 set at 24).

The 5 iron lost the fight for now, but expect it will gain it again, as the other two are pretty similar in what they do.

Course completely frozen solid this morning, about -2°c when we started. I played pretty well for the most part, but just impossible to score well in those conditions. If you missed the green long, left or right you were screwed as you'd be chipping off frozen lumps of mud. If you hit the green you were screwed as you're bouncing miles through the back. I had three blobs where there was absolutely nothing I could have done after missing the greens in impossible positions.

My driving was back to being very hit and miss, one particularly awful slice was so bad it only went about 150 yards - almost like it had sliced around in a circle and starting coming back towards me. Hit some good ones as well but as usual the signs of recent progress halted. Another year of struggle begins.

24 points in the end. 11 out and 13 back. Putted well again though, somehow managed to avoid any three-putts through the frost!

Was the score entered for handicap?

Cold with frozen temp greens. Not enough scope in the 6 shots I get in our roll up stableford to accommodate the randomness around playing to tiny frozen temp greens. Scored OK but find it pretty frustrating. Nice to be out.

Pleasant morning but, like most, our greens were frozen. Still managed a steady round and 32 points. Pleased with how I’m playing at the moment which means I’m in for a crap year 🙄

Monthly Stableford this morning.
Very icy in Hertfordshire but I played poorly anyway. Having thought I was on a roll lately, I was suitably humbled by the golf course and nature. 22 miserable points.

But I did win nearest the pin and a 1/3 share of the 2s.

18 temps on as everything frozen. Got off to a disastrous start when my electric trolley died halfway up the first. Not sure what happened as I had charged the battery during the week. Took the battery out and back in a couple of times but didn’t make any difference.

Despite that, played really well for 40 points, although was knackered by the end. Driving was excellent and chipping and putting were very good given the conditions.

Put battery on to charge when I got home, took 10 mins to get fully charged, so looks like the issue was with the trolley 😥

Amazed you were open. Our place was closed, they posted a picture of a white, frozen green. Was it not a bit Mickey Mouse? Saying that, 40 points 🤷

Out today for a 'jolly day' with the lads - jolly in that it was frozen when we went out (so 18 holes on the front fringe), and was thawed & muddy when we finished. Nonetheless, we still played 2-2-2 between the three of us. Irritating and exhilarating in equal measure. Missed a 5 footer to lose the front nine by 1 pt. But finished birdie/par/par to sneak a 1 pt win on the back nine. Best bit was no blobs on the card despite the conditions.
