I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

Very enjoyable 9 holes, by time we got to the 9th not too bad at all temperature wise.
Some outrageous bounces but greens putted well. Frost wasn't sticking to shoes for first 5 holes which was nice.
Snow still lying in shade meaning back nine won't open on the weekend
Played 3 from 4 and winners had 61 🫣

Went out for nine holes today knowing the course would be white and frozen. No snow in my part of east central Scotland but sub zero temperatures at night for what feels like two weeks now and barely hitting one or two degrees through the day. Winter greens and fairway mats but still enjoyable. Course very quiet due to the arctic conditions and putting on the greens through half a centimetre of built up frost was interesting as was hitting approach shots and seeing the ball bouncing twenty feet into the air. It’s predicted to be ten degrees from Sunday for a week so we might well be back to normal golf then.

For those struggling on frosty greens, I've put a 1930s putter in the bag.
Greens were a lot woolier then so lofts were greater, mine is 11 degrees and plays like a dream on a frosty green.

Played today in a 4 person scramble, we shot 9 under but not good enough to win anything but a few novelties, I chipped in for an eagle on a par 5, and a couple of nearest on second shots.

Had a great day in 31C heat, drank heaps of beer and had a lot of laughter.

Minus 6 here this morning when I walked the dogs round the course. No chance of any golf, but I will be drinking beer later 🍻

4BBB last week on Temp Greens, game was a lottery, anyway, we won the comp with 38pts and we had a 2(Partner got it, but we split it) when up today and collected £45.00 each.

4BBB comp again today, still on Temp Greens, still a lottery, but weather was lovely, bright sun and a huge 4 degrees C,
41 points today, but finished 2nd, 😬
So another few quid to collect next week.

Not sure I want the normal greens back on!😂😂

Tee boxes were frozen solid today, as expected. I struggled on them all day, couldn't hit a thing with any power, pulling out of swings and slicing/topping it, etc. Once I got in I asked one of the scratch golfers at the club how he found them, he said, "ok, I just stand in the rough" and now I feel a total idiot

Finally remembered to take my new rubber tees on a string.

Winter League round and we came second, maybe even first depending on the substitute rules.

The 1930s lofted putter and Bronty chipper performed admirably in the very icy conditions, although being honest my partner did the lion's share of the work.

Car said -5 when I pulled into the car park this morning with everything frozen and thick frost.

Couldn’t get a tee into the ground so hit 3 wood off the ground on every hole which worked surprisingly well with the extra bounces.

Everything was a total lottery with the bounces, funniest one was on a 40 foot putt from the fringe my ball travelled about 4 foot, hit a frozen solid worm cast, bounced 4 foot straight up and ended up about 35 foot short of the hole.

Frost was that thick the greens must have been running at about 3 on the stimp meter.
