I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

Decent round this morning, continuing to strike it really nicely. 34 points with the only blob coming at the last, which was frustrating.

I don't normally feel the cold but this morning my hands stayed frozen all the way to the turn when the lure of warmth and breakfast proved too much for both of us. We managed another 2 holes....
The result of not being able to feel my fingers was far from normal performance.....although I did birdie the 10th.....but..Oh my hands....🥶

I'm in Richmond for the weekend and I'm amazed at how much snow I'm still seeing. Not covering a field but patches of it plus piles at the side of the road. 8⁰c but it's still hanging on.
The sides of the parking lot here....large piles of snow. It will be a couple of weeks before things get back to kind-of normal. Harrogate is kind of boringly blah most of the time....for some reason, the center of the snow universe the last couple of weeks.

Saunton West today. Smashing weather for January. My first look at the work building new tees on 3rd and the walk off from 3rd green to 4th tees. Also scrub clearance and replacement with sand scrapes to the right of 7th green. All looks really good. Some visitors gravitate to the East, as ranked higher, but they're missing out.

Greens again firm and fast. Back in two weeks, can't wait.

Well 31 points isn't gonna threaten any leaderboard but it's all I could
muster today
High point was my wife shooting a PB and still not placing despite the handicap cap

Our course re-opened on Wed so yesterday, Thurs, I could submit an 18-hole General Play score of 34pts, on a pretty booked-up course, as we are one of the few in N Leeds that are on full 18 greens. The course has recovered unbelievably & is back to where it was pre-snow.

I wish. Both my courses are still on temps. I think Oakdale was up to 12 holes and Ripon at 15 holes. When I'm out for walks there is still plenty of ice around....it just won't go away. There is supposed to be another freeze tonight, so my hoping to play Monday is getting doubtful.

I have not played in today's Winter Pairs Comp as I'm 5-day, but 41pts, with a blob, is currently winning with 2 x 40pts next, which is a measure of how it's recovered. Also, nearly all bunkers were back in play on Fri. Greenies doing a great job...... & our Red-tee course proving to be a good challenge.
I'd think our Monday, Senior's Waltzer will be OK as we never have Temps for frost reasons. Makes shots-to-green interesting but a few weeks ago when the greens were frozen solid a guy won with 32pts & with PCC going to 3 got a cut to his H/cap.

Al Mouj, Oman today. Made a world top 100 a couple of years ago and I can see why. Very picturesque linksy design. Spectacular holes along the coast and a lot of shots over the sea (Gulf). Hardly anyone playing and pristine condition. Great value for the quality. Up there with the best I’ve played anywhere - quite a bit of building work going on around.

Played this morning, had been looking forward to it all week so knew that would probably invoke some bad ju-ju.

No bad ju-ju, felt good, swing was nice and shot a 71 (+4). If I was to take a frustration from it its that I only had one birdie on 14 and a lot of pars that were tap ins as a result of just missing the birdie putt.

But not going to dwell on that as lots of pars is good stuff.
