Thats my point Macster. In my opinion foxes ar a bigger threat to everyday living than squirrels. I have never heard of a squirrel wipe out a run of hens or kill pet animals but because they threaten the 'indigenous' red squirrel that they can be hunted. I think grey squirrels are as bad as rats and should be killed.

Its hardly the same Madandra - Grey Squirrels arent indiginous, and as well as the huge impact on the Red Squirrels, they are a huge problem in both damage to woodland, and more importantly, damage to Bird life, through predation of eggs/young, and the taking of seeds which birds rely on.

Now, the Fox may indeed take Chickens if the opportunity arises, and kill a whole run if it can, but you can bet it would come back and eat them all if it could over time.
However, its main diet of rabbits/Pigeons/seagulls are not endangered, and if anything, it actually assists us in keeping these numbers down.

Maybe it would take a domestic cat if it could, I dont know, Ive never heard of it, but tbh, even as a cat owner, - what the hell, we've millions of cats that contribute feck all to anyone.

Thats not fair ..... my vet has lived for years, in some comfort, on the income generated by my two cats!!
