We are all kitted up - kids are very excited - and ready to get going this morning to the meet of our local foxhounds. Should be good as the temperature has risen overnight so the ground has softened.

Last year on Boxing Day we had a mounted field of over 120 and about 1000 people at the meet. Hope for the same this year.

Anyone else doing the same today?

Cheers,

Snelly.

No. That is only the masters and the huntsmen. Everyone else on horseback wears the same kit as a show jumper for example.

We are foot following though. General country kit describes the clothes of most people on foot. Some are more dressy than others of course...

Chomping at the bit to reply but keeping my thoughts well and truly to myself this time.

Snap in more ways than one.

Can't believe you get your kids involved - a great advert for the future

As I work for the Government Department that introduced the bill to ban fox hunting, I should deplore your actions.....however I am a big fan of country pursuits / sports and was totally against it in the first place!!! :D Hope you have a cracking day.

Depends what you are hunting, if its a man setting a course then have a good time, if you are wanting to rip an intelligent defenseless animal to pieces then I hope you fall off and break something

No.

hunting up here in ayrshire is different. four of us are going 'hunting' later. we are all kitted out, new balacavas, a couple of Purdys (shortened for more coverage). for security reasons we cant tell you where we are going. but i can say its not foxes we are hunting. :D

please note this post is fictional, and any armed holdups that happen in Ayrshire in the next 24 hrs is purely coincidental.
;) ;)

How terrible, it would be much nicer if we let the foxes rip poor innocent rabbits apart, and then overpopulate and slowly and painfully starve to death!

Let's turn this around, how would you feel if you saw a pack of foxes rip your dog to pieces whilst it was still alive in front of your kid's? simple question, let's not have a convoluted answer.

Unless the fox population is kept under control that might just happen

I hope anyone who goes hunting has a bad fall and spend many a day or week laid up in pain.

Del

P.S My daughter went hunting today and I told her the same.

Charming, so how would you feel if your grandchild was ripped to shreds by a fox/foxes?
