How do you identify your ball?

i dont like the ball plastered with writing or anything. it puts me off and makes the ball ugly. a dot from a marker on either side does the job for me.

With my initials in between the makers name.
When I tee off I look at the makers name only and can not see any of my markings!

I identify mine as the ball which started left, went straight and ended up over there in the rough on the right.

Mines usually got someone's initials on it from when I found it on the previous hole/round

I used to mark with a large M on my ball. Then our group was called through. I hit my shot into the right hand bunker. I went to play the ball with the M on it, and was told that that ball was not mine. Mine was further up the bunker. It turned out both of us were playing the same make, number and with the same M marked on the ball !!

I then changed to six black dots in a circle.

HID got me some Pro V's with Homer down the side which I take to GM meets and club matches. Other than that I tend to mark with my ball with three black dots in a triangle under the ball number both sides

I stopped putting my initials on the ball after hooking an 8 iron across an 8 lane free way in Florida. I hit nothing, but heck, my heart was in my mouth, I tell you.

Currently I have a pink line round the circumference, and a pink cat motif, which looks a lot like a kangaroo.

i try and use 'less' popular balls (not Titleist) and mark them with 1 dimple fillled in blue to the left of the brand name and a red dot just to the right of that (Palace colours :whoo:).

Having said that I have stocked up on PRO V1's for this summer, but will mark them the same.

I mark mine with a small anchor below the number both sides.

Not many people would know why (ex Navy)- but it was original enough to highlight that someone in a group ahead had played my ball from the middle of the fairway I was playing. He couldn't deny it as his playing partners questioned him straight away when I mentioned it and showed them the mark.

Usually a couple of black dots above and below the number and a blackline.
