I can barely remember!
I'm lucky enough to share birthdays with a twin brother, a rare gift!
We got a load of mates together, and my dear old dad, and played at Milford Golf Club before having a meal there.
One of the assistant pros, at that time, was in a really good blues band & they provided the after dinner entertainment for us and our wives/girlfriends/partners.
It was an awesome day, truly brilliant.

Slime.

Played there a couple of times with a friend who was a member.. Brings back memories of the 18th. IMO the 17th is tougher than the 18th as it is more difficult to judge whereas the 18th is just right for ripping the driver..

A Polo Lesson - surprise pressie from the other half who, as an experienced rider, was mightily unimpressed how much better I, a relative beginner as a rider, was at it than she was! 'The 3 Graces' were deliciously on view too!

Oh and followed by Bollinger NV, 83 Margaux, 83 La Chappelle and 83 Rieussec! Can't remember the food!

I left my wife eating an enormous breakfast courtesy of room service in the 5* hotel at Turnberry, and I was first off at 7:00 as a one ball on the Ailsa course on the day of my birthday. After the first couple of holes you turn to play along the water, and I could have been the only person on the planet.

On my 39th birthday I won a taxi ride in the Lancaster Just Jane, which was a dream come true, then on my 40th played Turnberry pretty special, then on my missus 40th I chucked her down the infamous Hanankahm ski run in Kitzbuhel. 50th next year so wondering what to do for that?

I'm 40 in March, will be in the ballot for The Old Course for the day before by bday with one group I play with, then will play Archerfield the day after by bday with my other 4 ball.Working the actual day but will take the family out for dinner at night.
Also playing Askernish on holiday as a wee pressie to myself in July.

The thought of turning 40 has done a strange thing to me.I'm training to run a marathon, I'm climbing Ben Nevis, walking the great Glen and starting to donate blood!

Went to see some lesbian friends in Amsterdam with the wife who took me out drinking and then to a live sex show.

To be honest the live sex show sounds more exciting than it was as one of the men was having one or two troubles performing. But then again I sometimes have trouble having a waz if someone's stood next to me, so I could feel his pain....

Went to Amsterdam with the missus and another couple for my 40th, as my birthday is at the end of December we also doubled it with the New Year celebrations.
Had a great time although a bit hazy

About dozen of us had a trip upto the Roxburghe Golf Club for a round
Then a late one in the 'Toon' ....... finished off at the Casino
Canny day , not extravaggant by any means , but good day it was
