How many clubs can fit in a Qashqai

Not sure if this is where I should put this, if wrong spot I am sorry. I am getting a new car (old one is dead) and I was thinking on getting a
Nissan Qashqai but was wondering if you can fit 4 sets of clubs in the back (with out folding seats). Would be great if you could get a few small kit bags too.
So I'm wondering if any of you drive such a car and how is the room?.

I did have a Tucson and I could get 4 bags in it, so I am thinking I can in the Qashqai as well, anyway look forward to hearing from you>>
cheers!
Steve

Looking at those specs, you'd need to remove driver from the bags as the boot isn't wide enough. Think you might struggle to get 4 in though.

LUGGAGE CAPACITY
All versions
Luggage capacity (L)400 - 455
Luggage capacity with folded seats VDA (L)1447
Max. luggage length with rear seats up (mm)870
Max. luggage length with rear folded (mm)1621
Max. luggage width (mm)1100

4 seems a real push for a Qashqai. You have a chance if the are 4 carry bags but even then, as above, the drivers will likely have to come out. If this were a quiz question I would say no 😄

We have a Qashqai, 2017 model (when they just started making them a little bigger than the old ones).

I can fit my golf bag acrossways in the boot, so not having to take driver out. You can lay two golf bags side-by-side across the boot floor, but I don't think you could squeeze in three that way. So then in theory you could put two more bags on top of those two, but there wouldn't be much room for anything else. We actually viewed a Tucson before we got it, and the Qashqai boot is certainly a little bit smaller.

HOWEVER... if you're getting a new Qashqai it appears the boot is bigger than our 2017 one - still a bit smaller than the Tucson boot, but not by as much:

My Mazda CX5 has a bigger boot than all the above, but whilst my bag and trolley are easily in without removing anything, getting 4 full bags in the boot without dropping a seat might be an issue.....unless that is you drop the middle rear seat and stack 2 or perhaps 3 down the middle.
To be able to comfortably get 4 bags in, I would suggest you need an estate or the next SUV size up and hope:)

The problem you find with "bigger boots" is manufactures love to close off wheel arches and useful spaces so it may be bigger but it isn't as useful

If you go to that website I linked they actually have photos of the boot as well, which is really useful.

e.g. the 2024 Qashqai:

That's actually a decent boot. With those arches uncovered the bag should fit without the need to take the driver out and makes it a much more useful space

When eldest was born we ruled out any buggy that needed a wheel to be taken out to get into the boot

It's such a basic thing for car makers to make it easy for useful things to be stored in a car

I took my clubs and car seats (were in the car) to check the niro to make sure I could fit 3 car seats in the back and clubs without taking driver out in the boot.

Sure it's not a massive hassle taking the driver out but why should you have to because a manufacturer has decided oh these wheel arches would look better squared off... Honda's I found had the best boot spaces

Honda do have excellent boot space as they actually consider golf clubs in the boot.
However, since the majority of car buyers probably dont play golf, is it the car manufacturers problem that the club manufacturers have made their drivers longer so the amateur can get an extra 10 yards out and claim to be hitting the ball longer than ever?
As you said, taking whats important to you when you choose a car is the best way forward. As we all want different things from our cars, the manufacturers must compromise on how they think is best.
I love my CX5, and I consider the boot pretty good. It seems definately better than one of playing group who has a new Tucson, but my CX5 is not everyones choice even allowing for it being petrol.:)

It's not just golf clubs tho, any space uncovered can be used for other things which are useful. Packing suitcases in your boot and then suddenly you have space down the sides to fit extra bits

Or for baby prams / strollers. So much easier to fit in with that extra space

If a product is made that doesn't use the maximum potential of the dimensions and there is empty or dead space then it's poorly designed

I can fit 4 small and 1 medium size suitcase in my boot with space under (hidden bit) and then those wheel arches and still space on top for a 6th case if I decided

That is an excellent use of space and design

This is basic car design , it's what cars should be. Useful

Until people start complaining they are too big and keep getting dinged in car parks as the slots are “too small” 🤪

Recently bought a 2016 Vauxhall insignia, I only use my car for golf (work from home), wanted something that I could fit my clubs and trolley in the boot without having the seats down, parcel shelf off etc.

The boot is bloody massive, easily fits the above in, plus shoes etc and still room for more. Reckon I could hide 4 people in there if they needed to evade the cops!

So if you’re not set on a suv, I’d have a look at a saloon.

Lol 😂 there is that but I'm talking about using all the space that's there anyways IE not covering the wheel arches with plastic to square the boot ofc etc

The Alhambra boot was massive in one way but in another way it was pathetic for the size of the car because of the covered arches

Basic design

If you want a van, buy a van. Arches and the like are covered for athesitcal appeal to the comsumer and also sound insulation.

Are they tho? Take the honda who leaves the arches open, still look fantastic and noise insulation is fine.

Or as @Orikoru posted the nissan boot that has those arches available where the driver will slot nicely to avoid removing it.

Basic design which manufacturers are slowly catching up on.

As I keep saying..not just for golf. Useful for parents for buggies etc.

Families after all are who these type of cars get aimed at a lot.

In early 2024 when my wife was looking for a new car we checked out the Qashqai (2024 model) and a cart bag with driver fitted in no problem. Couldn't say if you'll get 4 bags in, but the boot did seem pretty damn big.
(Ended up not getting a Qashqai because getting into it was too high for her 😅)

Must say hats off to nissan there. Cart bag fitting it is impressive, mine only fits a carry bag with it , but as I don't use cart bag works for me

Useful to know tho 👍

I remember 8 years ago looking at a SUV type of car when the wife was changing hers. We wanted something that could fit the sons buggy in without putting down seats, removing parcel self etc and also fit a bit of shopping in. The car looked big (she was saying it was too big) but when you opened the boot it just reminded me of a treasure chest, complete rectangle with massive plastic bits covering up the arches. Needless to say the buggy couldn't fit at all without removing the parcel shelf and having it block half the back window. Think it might have been a Mokka or a Kuga we were looking at, complete garbage design. She ended up with a C3 Picasso which she loves to this day.

I've removed the parcel shelves completely in both our cars. I hate them, they seem to serve no purpose whatsoever and just get in the way. The Qashqai actually has a handy little storage bit under the boot floor where you can stash the parcel shelf away. My Fiesta's parcel shelf is sitting in the back room. 😄
