How Close Have You Been to an Ace?

During a recent golf trip to Portugal I came as close as I ever have to an Ace. As you will see from the picture the line was bang on but instead of rolling it pitched and rolled back. I was wondering how close have people been without the ball going in. I have been playing properly for three years and this is by far the closest I have come.

I've pitched a similar distance from the hole but it rolled on some way past....apart from that I've not ever thought that anything has been close at all.
 
The closest I've been without holing out (I've been fortunate enough to have had three aces) is about 2" at our 11th. That actually happened only a week after my first ace.

I made the putt, too.......
 
I've had 2 aces but been only an inch or two from a couple, one damaged the cup for what would have been a slam dunk
 
Have slam dunked a cup before but it shot back out and it landed About 6 feet away , had one pitch half on the edge.
 
IMG_1692.jpgThis close. 149 yard 6th, pitched about 6 foot shot and rolled in an inch. Gutted. But was my first ever 2 in a comp so instead of costing me a fortune it paid out the 2s pot.
 
I've had a few one handed tap in 2s from inside six inches. Closest was about two inches directly behind the hole....

Still never been lucky enough to make the ace....

Did have one on the Hotchkin two years ago tho.
 
bottom of the cup. Pitched past the whole and span back in..... with no playing partners around to witness. Gutted! very hollow feeling celebrating a hole in one on ya' todd

Im hoping that was a Par 4 green with the new big dog? :D

Thats great news

It was quickly replaced by an R15 TP I put a X flex Redtie shaft in it, from my Adams XTD Driver.

Back OT

I once hit a blind tee shot on a par 3 at Hart Common GC. It was early morning and the dew was thick on the ground

Got to the green and i could see the trail of the ball that literally crossed the hole, missing it by a couple of mm.

was crushed :-)

Mind you i did bag my first ace a few years back so made up for it :whoo:

That is spooky the 915 replaced a TM R15 red tie X flex in my bag!
