Taking 'The Mrs' away for a few days. Last year we went to Dumfries which meant that I could play Southereness and Powfoot on consecutive days in Seniors Comps for £18 in total.

This year I was looking at North Berwick area and on 7/8/9 July The following courses have Senior Comps. 7th The Glen, 8th Royal Musselburgh, 9th Whitekirk. I may only be able to take in 2 but how far apart are they and which would you recommend?

The other alternative is Hawick and Peebles on 10/12th August.Anyone know what they are like?

WE will be travelling from South Cumbria and I need somewhere where she can shop a tad. Any suggestions where to stay? Our budget per night for B and B £100 max.

Any help would be appreciated

Out of that I would go for The Glen and R Musselburgh based on what folk say about the courses, they are what 35 mins apart,I wouldnt entertain Whitekirk,do not enjoy it at all, tight in many places and greens the size of a small cars bonnet and anytime I have played it has never been that great condition wise but that is my own personal opinion....(note the disclaimer). :D

Hawick and Peebles are nice enough but if you struggle with walking Hawick can be a tad hilly.

With regards B&B I am sure Tommo may be able to point you in the right direction.

The thoughtful husband!
If I tried that I'd be on the sofa. My missus would prefer I just went alone rather than drag her along as an excuse to get a game of golf.
