Hi All,

I wonder if anyone who has started using a Super Stroke putter grip in the last few years has had much better or worse results in there putting. Was this a game changer for you?

I am interested in all and any stories.

Thanks,

Alex

one of the guys i play with regularly switched to one of these 2 years ago, he was off 6. He is now on the cusp of 10, but at the start of Jan he switched back to a normal grip. his play is night and day.

He was never what you would call a good ball striker, but had a razor sharp short game. he would save par a fair bit. Once the putting went it was just a procession of 0.1.

back with his old slim grip he has been shooting good scores all winter and i expect he will be back to 6 in no time.

I have used one for about 18mnths now, cant say its made any significant difference to my putting. However i do like the feel to it etc

I like the feel, and it feels really comfortable for my claw grip, but don't expect to stick a superstroke on your putter and suddenly putt like Inbee Park.

I've had one for probably 12 months. Can't say there is any noticeable difference, maybe slightly worse on short putts due to a lack of being able to break the wrists. Having said that, I like it.

tried one, hated it.
tried normal golf grip- comfortable but not right for putting.
tried kack handed - good strikes but hated it

saw a really short video I'd never seen before on getting the right putting grip- tried it, loved it. Not tried on a green yet but this is different to the way I've gripped the putter since starting golf:eek: probably normal for most of you though but I'm a slow learner:rolleyes:

i bought a putter on ebay which had one of these fitted. i intended to regrip it, but before doing so i took it out for a round and holed everything. it is still the putter in the bag.

that said, i have since more or less come back to my normal putt conversion rate, so any improvement was probably down to a novelty effect.

it certainly didn't do any harm, i'd suggest it has made keeping the wrists from breaking down a fraction easier, but the improvement is marginal

Using a superstroke 3.0 upped my consistency by 7%. Not exactly life changing, but enough of an improvement for me.

I recently tried one (3.0 slim) on a back up putter, I am not loving it.

I am better with my scotty pistolero built up a bit with 4 layers of tape.

Waste of £25 for me.

I'm amazed he stuck with it for so long

I just changed to one a few weeks ago. My putting has always been inconsistent with me being shaky coming back and through the ball. Had a shot with my friend's super stroke and the difference in the stroke was huge! Saw immediate improvements so I changed my grip to a super stroke 3.0

Had it in play on Saturday- 9 3 putts! Hoping I just need to get used to it.......

OUCH!

Had a Fatso 5 on my TT3 when I bought it - that lasted 2 rounds....hateful thing
Tried a Superslim 1 on a back up putter - that lasted 10...not quite so hateful!
I don't care if they domstop your wrists breaking in the stroke, I felt so uncomfortable with them that the horrible feel overrode any benefit.
Never again

I wouldn't say it has changed my life...but it feels a lot better in my hands and so more comfortable when putting

I putt better with a narrow grip.

Bitter experience has taught me this.

I tried a Slim 2.0 and a Flatso Mid and while they do keep the wrists very quiet, they, for me take a lot of the feel out of a putt.

Ping PP58 blackout grip or anything narrow will do me just fine

slim 2.0 for me. Biggest plus is its a parallel grip so no messing about building up the bottom hand. Size works for me as fits my top hand great, doesnt feel a great deal difference thickness wise to the midsize i had before, couldnt go any bigger though personally as start to lose feel

Slim 2.0 for me too. I found I was a bit flicky with a standard grip and got twitchy on shorter putts. Super Stroke appears to have helped me to some extent, but as I rarely practice, I have to go with what feels better for me. Currently, that is the Super Stroke.

I put a slim 3.0 on at the start of last season following a switch to left below right grip a few months earlier and rolled the ball nicely all season and felt very confident from close range.

Not sure whether its mainly down to the supetstroke or physical grip change or a bit of both but I do like it. Like a lot of things though, its not a total cure to bad technique but it does help take the wrists out of the stroke.
