What's the issue, hes just having a bit of a laugh. A huge number of women pro golfers are Asian, hes trying to have a laugh about it not make fun of them. He might not pay much attention to womens golf, I dont either, i know a couple of the lookers and would probably more likely to watch them for that rather than their ability. I dont follow womens football and couldn't name a player what's the issue ? Typical modern media making mountains out of mole hills
I'm in no way offended. Just saying that I can understand why he'd apologise for what could be deemed racist. I don't see any issue of sexism though.

Hank Haney has a history of being a bit of “cocky loudmouth†trying to make jokes and being “controversialâ€
The guy is an idiot and the first issue is the way he dismissed the Ladies game so nonchalantly , the game for them has enough barriers without idiots like him blurting out rubbish ( bet he knew exactly that the US Women’s Open was on this week )
And then the “comment†about the second names of the South Koreans - it was just poor , no idea if it’s racist but certainly poor and an overriding sexist attitude from him

It's a swerve because I asked you whether you thought it was racist, and you said it didn't matter what you thought...
It curious that someone who is clearly interested in the story, is not willing to offer their own opinion on whether they think one of the big accusations surrounding it is valid or not.
And I'm not really taking a side. I am just pointing out that anything other than boring soundbites in interviews, are now fair game for a tiny amount of people to kick up a big stink about them. I don't think that is a good thing for the world.

You are not a Well known US Golf coach who has been teaching on the main tours for decades and has his own golf show - if he doesn’t know the biggest Women’s Major is on then he doesn’t know his subject well

Not aware he teaches any women tour players ? Mens golf is completely separate from womens golf, they dont overlap. It doesn't surprise me he didn't know, would you rather he lied about it and said he did know ? At least he is honest

Sport in the US is trying it’s very best to be as equal as it can - believe the Women’s US Open is being pushed and advertised a lot over there plus I think they have raised the prize money so people will see Haney comments as a big kick in the teeth to a lot of people working very hard - so I think the overreacting is going to happen and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him gone from the show

?! Not trying to make anything out ? The reaction is there on the other side of the pond from Professional golfers who believe he has insulted them and their game and from someone who is in a position they believe should know better.
I don’t recall also saying “it bothered me†- it doesn’t affect me , this is just people having a conversation about it and the affect it may or has had.

Sorry but that’s quite clearly nonsense- he apologised, his show has been taken off the air so it has affected someone
It’s all over the media - people reacting to it and it’s put a bad light on the sport

You can bury your head in the sand but it’s quite clearly something even if it’s just ill thought out - it has had a negative affect on a sport that already has a poor image.
