If it’s raining when I’m already out on the course no problem. It it’s a comp round agin no drama I quite enjoy that, but a social round with the wife who has no waterproofs then sod that

Regardless of where I fill in the card, it still needs filling in, even if I didn’t I’d still need to know how many shots I get before I start the round when playing in a stableford. So yes, we can all do our research whilst sat on the bog at home, or in bed the night before, but the fact remains that the calculation still needs to be done.

I think you are missing the points raised. A players handicap does not have to be on the card, a player is only responsible for their gross score on the card it is the committees responsibility to work out the stableford points.

When you say you need to know how many shots for stableford it is for your own benefit - get it wrong and it does not matter for a comp result.

Appreciate that but does anyone go into a stableford comp not knowing what shots they get? I don’t know anyone else who goes in blind, holing out for no points, or ‘I’ve got this putt for a point’.

Anyway, I think this has been done to death, we’re ok to have different opinions and different methods.
