(Not being sexist, but the 4 2 balls were all women members. One of them is well known for having a rant at anyone who she thinks is playing too fast behind her, even though she never lets anyone play through. Lesson learned, if they have their names down in future, allow at least 45 minutes before playing!)
Yes you are.

Righto.

I was stating a fact. We have a very active Ladies section, our Pro has recruited lots of them over the last few years. Which is great for the club, but (like the seniors), some are very slow, don't hit it very far, and don't like letting faster players through.

If I had said there were 4 groups of seniors in front of me, would you have called me out for being ageist?

Yes, I would. Why did you feel the need to mention what sex the players were? Would you have mentioned their race? Same thing applies

Saying who they were isn't sexist.

Making the inference or the assumption that everyone in that section of society behaves exactly the same way, is.

Who made that jump? 🤣🤣🤣
Not me. The point I made was that a proportion of our lady members - like some of our senior members - are slow, can’t hit the ball very far, and don’t like letting others play through. That might not be politically correct, but it is undoubtedly the case at our place. Other lady members don’t have those faults. The pile up I encountered suggested that I had ran into some who fell into the former category, hence my decision to abandon my round.

It's like the media these days - if there's no victim, there's no story.

Stuck behind a fourball yesterday, one bloke and three women for the record. 😉
When we set off our group was moaning about the four old seniors in front of them who only played 9 holes, they historically are sloooow. They were miles in front of the four in front of us.
When the four in front of us had played the front nine, it’s a 150 yd walk to the next hole. By the time our three ball had approached the green, chipped onto the green putted out and started walking to the next hole. They were 100 yards in front of us and had not even got to the tee. We thought they would let us through. Nope.
Problem is they are established members and do no wrong. They sit on committees and every month there is minutes that go out about slow play. 😳

I would ask them if I could play through. I don’t think enough people do this, it at least definitely registers with them that they have a faster group behind and space in front.
My wife and I have started doing this when playing abroad when there’s an ultra slow group in front.and space to play into, surprisingly it’s worked every time and the people we have played through seem to react politely and as if it is a thing they’re not aware that they could do.
It’s better to at least try rather than just fuming.

Our problem is there was 18 of us playing in a fuddle. If we ask to be let through the problem still continues for those behind. We were just content to moan about seniors. ( of which I am one ) 😉

I was in the York Outlet centre the weekend just gone. A Crocs outlet shop is due to open there shortly. I'm sensing a weekend away with you and Mrs Tash under the guise of a romantic trip to lovely York, with a quick pop into the Outlet on the journey back :ROFLMAO: .
