When you're practicing your swing indoors and the wall suddenly decides to get closer and dents itself on your club
My kitchen ceiling did that! When you're practicing your swing indoors and the wall suddenly decides to get closer and dents itself on your club
If I won the lottery I would gladly treat my golfing mates to a few all inclusive days in Scotland playing the best courses that we could get tee times for.
My front room pendant light also got a bit curious and decided it wanted a closer look at my new Mizuno 7 iron once.My kitchen ceiling did that!
If we're talking tens of millions id be taking my mates to the masters for the next 30+ years every year.
Better shoot 200 to get my money's worth.
When I first started playing back in 1986 I was in the navy and living on the camp. ️ The cabin had a ceiling high enough to swing a club properly. Trying to hit one of those practice balls with the holes in, I managed to take a massive divot out of the carpet. Glued it back down with loads of Bostick. When you're practicing your swing indoors and the wall suddenly decides to get closer and dents itself on your club
I don’t care how good a course is supposed to be but that Sunningdale price is just ridiculous. They obviously don’t want riff raff digging up their courses.
You don't need to use price to manage demand at a golf club - you can just set visitor tee time availability when and if you want. You can allow one visitor or 150 per day, it is your choice. It’s not really about being greedy, but using pricing to manage demand and subsidise subscriptions.
When I first took up the game, I booked a course of group lessons. Second lesson, the pro says "I'm going to show you how to hit a draw and a fade"' and proceeded to spend 10 mins doing exactly that. Nice to watch, but a complete waste of time as most of us were lucky if we could just hit the ball.Irritating but friendly irritated.
A bloke of my age fairly recently in the last couple of years taken up golf. I am his mentor but we don’t get out as much as we need to (for a variety of good reasons). Speaking with him earlier today in the club car park he’s telling me he needs to get his handicap down from 31 to 28 to be able to move from academy membership to full membership. Fine… aaaand? …he goes on to tell me he’s going to do this by learning to draw the ball as he gets into trouble with his natural slice…
I didn‘t ask him where he got that idea from - though he did say the academy pro told him to not bother about it, just aim to control his slice into a fade. Well that‘s something…
Me? I just said that I bet we can knock 5 shots off his 31 through improved course management and nothing else. We”ll see. Must get out with him soon. Learn to Draw? Really…the ideas some newbies have
