Me and I guy I play with have both suffered a bit of back ache recently. Just a twinge in the lower section. Dunno if it's related to the golf. Maybe it's a coincidence but is golf generally bad for ur back? Any suggestions for how long to give it a rest?

The Golf swing should not give you any back pain if your doing it right, then how many of us do.Maybe look at other reasons do you warm up? do you carry your clubs?

I've had a bad back for the last few weeks nothing to do with golf that did it, bloody gardening.

I've had Tramadol, Diazepam and codeine tablets, and none have eased the pain.

Have been putting an ice pack on for 20 mins for the last few days and that has helped a lot.

Cheers. Nope I don't carry my golf clubs. I'm knackered enough at the end just pulling them lol. I'm kinda thinking it's not related to the golf as this is first time it's happened in 7 years, so why now? My mate has used pain killers and deep heat on it but only temporary relief. 10 days I've been resting it now (apart from 1 gym day). Expected it to be back to normalish now, but today it's bad as ever. Much more of this and i'll be off to GP. Back problems seem to take a long time to reslove themselves....
