Just a reminder that there is a GM Meet (was known as the Spring Meet but this year date makes a mockery of that) at Royal Ascot on June 9th. Reigning champion is Murphthemog.

As we have had an influx of newbies, just a reminder that its £50 for the day including bacon rolls and coffee, eighteen holes of golf, two course meal and prizes (I'm hoping GM might make a contribution to the prize fund again - Royal Ascot will be donating a prize again too)

Those that have registered an interest so far are:

Redwood
Golfmmad
Philthefragger
Rickg
Beck9965
Imurg
Mono217
Smiffy
CVG
Region3
Jahmoo
AliB
Viscount17
Mattdeeks
Backwoodsman
Haplesshacker (plus guest - Ian Dawson)
Justoneuk
Murphthemog
Pieman
Midnight

The cost is actually £10 cheaper than last year and I'm happy to take payment over two payments as I know a lot of you ahve other committments with the big Scottish trip, Addington and the GM v Golf Magic events also booked into the calendar.

There is still plenty of time to get involved so just let me know either here or via PM and I'll add you to the list. It was a good day last year and with the date being a couple of months later the course should be at its best.

There is an arrange a game page Homer, just like everyone else has to post in there and does!

Thank you.

Homer, I'd like to come along this year, but I'm unsure exactly when I'll be able to return to golf with the operation I just had. I was hoping for a June return, but it's not confirmed. When's the cut off date to book? x

Sneds,

I need to make the final payment about a week before hand so I guess around the end of May would be a reasonable cut-off. I hope you can come but obviously there is no point pushing it

Swinger,

More the merrier and its because we have had an influx of newbies that I have put another thread up (in the right area eventually - thanks whoever moved it and apologies The Craw). It should be a good day nd you can check out the course from my link. I look forward to meeting you on June 9th

Is a noobie welcome??

It depends how good you are.
If you regularly knock it round to handicap....no.
If you struggle to make 28 points most rounds......welcome along.
;) ;) ;)

Can never be sure which Swinger is going to tee it up on any day!!

Haven't been playing bad recently but June the 9th is a long way off. Might be up to 7 by then!

Sure I'll be donating a few pounds to someone, maybe even you Smiffy!!

:D

Thanks Homer. I'll check the dates and the course out. Sure the course will be a nice knock anyway and always enjoy somewhere new.

I'll let you know soon.

Homer; Can you put me down as provisional? I'm just awaiting confirmation of an appointment which I'm expecting to be sometime near then. Provided there's no clash, I'll be along.

Homer, long time no speak, myself and Harry senior could well be interested in another day out, last year was a good day.

I havent played much since if I am honest, I lost my way on the course, and the clubs were put away for nearly seven months, but I am starting to get back into the swing slowly, so maybe by June I could be there??

We'll be allowed at least 40 without a problem and given the fact its got the GM attached (and obviously the subsequent publicity here and in the mag) I can't see them being overly worried if we go above that. More the merrier I say so if anyone is interested just let me know.

Harry - welcome back btw and don't worry about losing your way. I've been like that for years on the course now but still come back for more.
