Footjoy M:Project Spikeless - any love?

I have a pair of the blue spikeless, got them in Feb 2013 and wore them most of the summer last year. They are a fantastic shoe, I don't like the old cliché, but they are like wearing a pair of slippers. I love them, I used to put them on before I left the office, drive to the club, then straight onto the course, same with going to the range. Even done the weekly shop in them after leaving the course!

After an awful year on the shoe front, 3 x Stuburt shoes that have all leaked, returned, leaked repeat etc, I am in the market for a new pair of shoes. I am tempted by the M project shoes as Footjoy have served me well in the past, I have wide feet and these get good write ups for comfort. My course is however a damp one, I play all year round and effective waterproofing is essential. Most threads on these shoes started about 9-10 months ago which is long enough for good testing.

For those who have had these shoes, how have you found them? Would you class them as an all year shoe or are they mainly a summer/autumn shoe?

Look very nice but beyond my price range. You seem to be able to get the M-Projects for £50 now which seems very good value. My worry is probably old fashioned as I link substantial with waterproof and solidity whereas new materials mean that is possible an outdated view now.

I've got a pair of the spiked version and don't wear them when it's raining. Don't keep my feet very dry and can feel the extra weight on them from retained water when changing out of them.

Just looking to get myself a new pair of shoes and wondered if anyone was using the M:Projects?

I have never really worn a 'traditional' golf shoe and normally favour a more trainer style but am starting to look for some 'smarter' looking ones to go with trousers and thought these in all white might be a good step between casual and formal if that makes sense!?

Feel really good, but never actually worn them outside of a shop. I ordered a pair of superlites CT instead as they just fitted a bit better. But the Project M did feel good when I hit a few balls into the net wearing them.

Total convert to ecco's having been a Footjoy man up to now. For me, with a narrow foot, they are the most comfortable golf shoes I have ever worn. I have a pair of Biom's for wet/autumn/winter use and a pair of streets for summer. Both pairs seem to repel water really well. I am sure that once the leather is waterlogged after walking through long wet grass for any length of time, most shoes will let water in. "Waterproof" always needs to be taken at face value.

Hey me too, it's a winning and very comfortable combination!! Maybe we should meet up, lace daisies in our hair and call each other sister.;)

apart from looking like the house shoe for the care home, they are very comfortable

I think they know their target audience and are going for a shoe that the average aged golfer can wear on the course and then not need to change when they go back to the care home. ;)

Thanks for the advice. I have a wide foot so always need to try shoes on, no internet bargains for me unfortunately. I will be looking at a couple of places at the weekend and will bear the advice in mind. I am a little worried about the hippy love in with the Ecco's but hey, maybe I need to mellow out. At what point/age do you stop worrying about the look of a shoe and think more of the comfort/slipper factor? I'm there I must admit.
