Just looking to get myself a new pair of shoes and wondered if anyone was using the M:Projects?

I have never really worn a 'traditional' golf shoe and normally favour a more trainer style but am starting to look for some 'smarter' looking ones to go with trousers and thought these in all white might be a good step between casual and formal if that makes sense!?

I have a pair and reviewed them on here bout a month back.

I got the spineless version.

Due to course conditions I've not had chance to wear them yet, but having worn them in the house they are very comfortable.

:mmm:

I've tried a couple of pairs of spikeless shoes and didn't like them one bit to be honest. I'm sure they are great if the course is dry, there's no dew about and there isn't going to be a shower at all during the round so would only get used a few times a year!
I'll stick with soft spikes for summer and traditional spikes for winter and know I'm going to get the grip I want.

Have been wearing spikeless for the last month ... no idea why you might think the conditions aren't suitable, they haven't let me down at all, and the course had lots of dew at 7 o'clock this morning !

Have to agree. Been using spineless shoes for the last month with no loss of grip and it has not been dry for the whole of any round.

I saw your post in the review section - same colour scheme as the ones I'm looking at.

For the spikeless sceptics - dont worry I've always worn spikeless so the grip aspect is if no concern to me unless they are the worst gripping spikeless design ever!

BT & GB what are you guys using?

,

Stuburt Urban. Bargain at £25-£30. There is a review in the review section

Played right through the winter with Ecco Streets and have to say that I've not slipped once - slipped plenty of times over the years previously with spiked shoes

I have a pair of Ashworth Cardiffs and also a pair of Adizero Sports

Cardiffs are sturdy but a bit heavy and get a bit warm - the Adizero Sports are very light and very breathable

last time i went to vilamoura i took a pair that i wore walking around as well as for playing golf. (just to save having to pack extra pair of shoes)

obviously the course was bone dry but they were perfectly comfortable and on no shot was i aware that i wasnt' wearing a pair of spiked golf shoes.

so thumbs up from me

Ive been using my new addicros at the range and they have been as goods as my nikes. Going to give them a run out on the course this eveing in my first twilite of the year :)

I only use my M:Project spikeless at the range, while they offer lots of grip they are a dry weather shoe. The tongue is not that wide and doesn't have the gators (those little folds on the side of the tongue) that other shoes have and thus on a wet day, when the bottoms of your troos get wet and rub over the outside tongue area of the shoe, your feet subsequently also get wet.

For me, they area reasonable shoe but there are better shoes out there.

i won a pair last year with one of the reader fitting days, they are amazing. i'll admit i havent worn them throught the winter, but they'll be coming out in the next few weeks, i expect for the rest of the summer. So comfortable and have never once slipped wearing them

Same as above, whilst they are the comfiest shoes I have ever worn, any slight moisture and I tended to lose grip. I also had a tendency to role more and not have the support wearing the m projects.

I tend to wear my Ecco streets most of summer, their grip is fantastic and can handle wet conditions perfectly. I only wear the m projects for afternoon rounds where it's bone dry. Nice idea but not a full time summer shoe.

That is one of the plus points of my Stuburt Urbans. There was plenty of dew on the ground yesterday but my feet stayed bone dry and no slipping. I am guessing that they are probably not as light as the FJ offerings but they are not exactly heavy and no worse than wearing a pair of leather trainers.

If I was going for a pair of FJ spikeless I would be looking at the Contour Casuals (In fact I am, the pair in my pro shop keep calling to me every time I go in their).

I'm torn at the moment, I'd like a lightweight pair of summer shoes, but don't know whether to go with the new Footjoy DNA or the new Puma mesh offerings.

Got a pair of the Contour Casuals very comfy shoe, got them out of winter storage a fortnight ago, so not had a rain test in them yet, did have dew on the ground yesterday feet stayed dry, unfortunately I did slip walking down the steeep 16th with wet grass clogging up the studs/spikes/whatever they're called!
