Evening all.
In an earlier post during the week i asked about playing the day before a comp......
Anyhooo i got my dates mixed up and this weekend it was stableford......
I entered our weekend comp this morning and singles and i went our with a carefree attitude......
One thing i did put emphisis on was to try and mimic my practice swing as closely as i could with the real one.......
What transpired was a round where i had the same swing speed and tempo for the whole 18 holes.......It felt like i was swinging through the ball rather than at it and i think that i have finally found my swing tempo........

My round went Bogie,Par,Birdie,Par,Birdie,Bogie,Bogie,Par on the front 9 for 26 points at the turn........

On the back it went Blob(7) on our par 4 10th after an OOB off the tee..........Bogie,Par,Bogie,Bogie,Doub Bogie,Par,Bogie,Doub Bogie.....To return with 16 points......

Thats 42 in total and i definately left at least 4 3 footers behind not commiting to the stroke........

Im happy out though and i think i have finally cracked my natural rhythm.....Not sure what the CSS is as tomorrow has to be played as well but a cut is on the way again......

I would take the 'found it' comment back. I said i 'found it' last week and now i cant play to save myself. Delete this post!!! ;)

Seriously though, go out and have fun and you are more than likely to have a good score :)

Hahaha thanks Owen.......
Iv been working hard on my tempo and rhythm lately and i think its paying off......
The banther between my playing partners was that i looked a bit like Ernie els this morning in my Cords and polo shirt.... :D :D
I think visualizing his swing during my round helped a little too if im honest....

I found out today for myself anyway that there is a major difference in contrast between collecting the ball on the way through the swing and hitting at it......
I know which one im supposed to be using now :D

Sounds good to me kid. That's an impressive front 9 (1 over gross?)....nice. :)

Ya Dave.....I found something in my swing this morning that people were telling me was there but i found it hard to do.....
All my playing partners keep telling me to copy my practice swing and everything will be sweet.....I actually listened to them this morning for some reason......
There is a lot of truth in the saying that a ball struck at 80% out of the sweet spot will travel further than a ball struck flat out off the heel or toe!

Also i have been using my 7 Iron lately around the greens using a putting stroke....I chipped in twice today with it for 2 Birdies and knocked alot close for 2 putts......
If i took at least 4 of the putts i missed on the back 9 which were definatley in me i would have had more.....Never happy are we.... :D :D :D

Good round lad, I think that you found your rhythm today, the hard part is continuing to find it, if you can, your handicap will surely tumble! It is a think I struggle with rhythm, especially with driver, and 3 wood!

Agreed.

I've thought I've 'found it' at least 3 times in the last 2 months and each time it lasts for a few rounds then disappears again.

Well played, It's great when it all comes together...

I'm playing pretty well, but put a medal card in my round and it all goes pear shaped. Off 16 (15.6 exact) last Saturday i went out and parred the first 5 holes, bogeyed the 6th, then finished the front 9, triple , double. bogey Gathered myself well and parred the next 3, then the wheels came off, i managed another couple of pars, but i also had a quad bogey and 2 more doubles !!!

Signed for an 88 , so all in all, 10 pars, 3 bogeys and 5 doubles and worse. I got a 0.1 cut (stableford adjustment), but that was the round where i should have shot the lights out of it. Only a week later can i even write about it I was so annoyed with myself !!!
