Finally broke 100 today after 12 months of trying

I was shooting 110 at best last year and decided to get some lessons, everything went well during them but went out on the corse and hit 122 yes 122, tried again and 118 :-(

today I played and everything clicked and the result ..... 95

just hope that it wasn't a complete fluke!!!

You should gain some well deserved confidence from that, 95 is smashing 100 not breaking it.

Well done mate I'm still trying to break it after 10 months of trying. I'm trying to keep my scores lower than 110 and just enjoying the game instead of worrying about my score at the moment and I'm happy with that for now.

95 is a great score and like lyden said, you've smashed it!!

try no to think numbers, play each shot at a time and if/when you hit a bad one forget about it, once it's hit you can't do anything to change it.

remember what was taught in your lessons, you'll be amazed how much the number will fall

I got stuck on 28hc for 12 months, had a lesson with fellow member and the hc dropped 7 in a winter, had two lessons in feb/march and the hc is below 20 now, consistently scoring 36pts in bounce games, and having much better results in competitions

Nice work. I have no idea how long it took me to break 100 but I do remember how good it felt when I did. Next step breaking 90

Cheers, I think the biggest difference today was not letting the bad shots ruin the hole.

Well played,as forum members have said just go out and enjoy.I know the feeling to break 100,I shot 94 after 9 months playing regularly,nearest I have got to it over last 6 weeks is 101,103's but enjoying the game.

Congratulations! Me too!! after about 8 months of self scoring and social rounds with no sub-100 scores, i played in a Stableford today and scored 37 points (28hcp). When i totted up my actual strokes...97. Only 1 lost ball and only a handful of duffed shots but plenty of crisp strikes of the ball with driver and long irons. Great end to a great long sunny weekend. Can't wait for June medal on Saturday. Hopefully my days of 28hcp will be short lived.
