Can't do it in three

Shawshank is number 1, but then it gets difficult.

A few others are -Twelve Monkey's, A Bridge too Far, Sucker Punch, Snatch, Day after tomorrow, Money Ball....could go on and on oh and Indiana Jones - Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I raise you Top Gun and Days of Thunder. When tom cruise was good!!

:D acceptable

Good films but wooden acting

Rain Man and Jerry Maguire were his two better acting films and even in those he was out acted ( Dustin Hoffman and Cuba Coding )

I agree, great films even with such awful acting!

I'll hit the breaks and he'll fly right by

Rubbings racing...

:D

Proper cheddar moments !!

Isn't Top Gun supposed to be the biggest gay icon movie or something. ?

Yeah but what was that all about casting tom cruise as Jack reacher. I have my thoughts about it, but picking him stunk

3 is tough.

Casablanca
It's a Wonderful Life
Life of Brian

Agree with Casablanca, but never been a fan of It's a wonderful Life. Too sickly sweet for me, and not a great fan of James Stewart for some reason. I think we are showing our age though Mashie with our choices.:) Might find a place for The French Connection as well.

I know what you mean about It's a Wonderful Life but the thing is every time I watch it I blub and I love the way it celebrates the little guy who does big things but is too humble to actually realise it.

Also I do like Jimmy Stewart. Genuine guy, great actor and so many great films; Destry Rides Again, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Vertigo, Rear Window, The Philadelphia Story, etc. Interview with Parkinson from the 1970s was recently on one of the Sky Arts channels - brilliant. I think one of the reasons I like Kuchar is that he reminds me of him. Closest nowadays I guess is Tom Hanks. Also a great actor.

As for showing our age - well they just don't make 'em like they used to, do they :).

Rich one of my other favourites is, To Catch A Thief. God was Grace Kelly fit!!

Outlaw Josey Wales
farewell to the King
Big Wednesday

Tough to pick three, standbye's could include

Black Rain
Fistful of Dollars
Four Weddings & a Funeral
Groundhog Day
Stripes
True Grit (original, but remake was good too)
Kill Bill
Kungfu Hustle
Lost in Translation
Grosse Point Blank
Leon
Shall We Dance (original Japanese version)
Mr Baseball
The Wedding Singer

The list could go on.......

Favourite films is a tough one - depends what mood I'm in.

Xmas time I'll watch It's a Wonderful Life followed by the original Miracle on 34th Street.

For a relatively modern slapstick, the first in the Home Alone series. I cry with laughter through large chunks of it.

But if I had to pick one film to take onto the Desert Island... Mary Poppins

My love for Lord of the Rings knows no bounds, so they would take up the 3 spots.

But when it comes to 'regular' films I'd go for

American Beauty
The Usual Suspects
In Bruges
