These two trips have recently come up in my phone "photo memories". I miss those trips.Murcar was a cracking forum game. I came off the course level par, though we did only manage one hole before the snow/sleet drove us off the course.
Think Junior saved my life getting me back to clubhouse before I went snow blind. Seem to remember by the time we got in Big Stu was on his third pint.
Up with the forum meet at Siloth as the coldest I have ever been on a golf course. Survived the Beast from the East.
@Tashyboy the Leeds course was Moortown. I did the same event on a different day. Really interesting and I was wearing the freebie socks today.
One for them, they showed us a pre launch version of the hydroknit jacket. I was wearing one today that I'd since bought. Ahead of it's time back then, I remember them being very excited about it.
A good night that, Rich.when a plant was assaulted in Deal
And yeah the trip to Liverpool and a night in Smoky Mo’s

Great times mate, a shame the NW lads dont meet up much, don't know why TBH.Hello all,
It’s just a kernel of an idea for now, but thought I would see if there is any interest, before finalising any plans.
The formula I’ve come up with is as follows:-
1. Played under stableford format over 6 courses throughout the northwest, with the best total points after 6 rounds being the winner.
2. We play 5 games at courses which get voted as the best options, after a vote on the forum., with it being fellow forum members courses, the final day being at Lee park in August/September.
3. You have to play all 6 courses between April and August/September, either at...

Hello all,
Hopefully we get some interest from further afield, with two great courses being played by forum members on Sunday 17Th March 2013 (Formby) and Monday 18th March 2013 (Royal Liverpool), or you can do just one, if you fancy it.
Full summer price for Formby is £125, April is £90, this will be available on the Sunday for £55.
They are not giving any concession, as they say it is a helluva deal anyway, and sadly they wont cater for an odd number. So the price is £220 per fourball and I have 3 tee times ringfenced, with possibly more to follow, if required. So I will have to...

Totally agree mate, bring back the Halycon Days. NWoom, York, Revolving Dancefloors and rubbish Nightclubs.
Remember the Dunghill Cup?
Let's get it on, Big Doo in March ??
Sounds good mate, or April when it gets sunny - nice little Cheshire course on the satdee, night out in Chester afterwards....drinkipoos down by the river/canal.
The North West Order of Merit ran for a few years before families and life took over. We had some amazing days out , trips and golfing rivalries.
My personal faves were Formby and Royal Liverpool double header. The Mottram Hall Masters and playing a number of times at Wallasey,

No Turnberry was only four layers, Silloth was six.Turnberry was colder.
The H4H meet when Nasher disappeared backwards off a low wall into the bushes during the pre-night warmer-upper evening only to be rescued by big-Stu..... great memories. That was epic, especially the curry night the night before. @Kraxx68 going to the gents in the curry house only to come out of the gents to find the table empty apart from the bill. Forumites hidden around the restaurant and outside stuck to the window. His “OMG” face when he picked up the bill…
The following year in the para’s pub with Fish, followed by another monster curry - wow!
A Cooden trip when Nasher lost 11 million golf balls…
A couple of Woodhall trips - the look on Smiffy’s face when he couldn’t light his cigarette when there was water dripping off the end of it.
Oh yes... he was well gone that night.... mind you I think you & I must have been fairly anesthetized to have shared the same room as Stu that night. Was indeed a really memorable trip.I’ve had a rethink.
2016 when the guys at GM ran a comp to offer magazine subscribers on the forum a freebie to the first days play of the Open at Troon.
What a day, saw some golf in the morning then got absolutely smashed in the VIP tent
I still have the Stella pint glass I managed to “procure”
Best memory of the day, getting back to the Wetherspoons in Irvine and seeing StuC almost face plant a curry as he was that drunk![]()
Hey look... as a born-n-bred NE'er I can assure you that all of those & the Beast-from-the-east Trip were a bit more than a long sleeved tee-shirt.No Turnberry was only four layers, Silloth was six.![]()
