Favourite Forum Moment?

For me I have a few and all of them are meeting the forum guys at both Forest pines and the North east meets.
Playing with Bill/man in Black at one of the meets who brought along John Miles who wrote and sung “ music was my first love”.
What a fantastic PP he was.
Not gonna lie my best moment was playing with Slab in Mauritius. I had met him in 2015 on Il aux cerf, an island off Mauritius where Bernard Langer designed a course. He was on a society day and went out of his way to see me. Two years ago I went back and he got me a round on the course where he caddied and wrote a fantastic blog about it. I cost me a rucksack full of
“ home comforts”. It was a top three memorable golf day. I owe him a Biggie. Oddly enough when I got back from that mini forum meet I met a guy for the first time that day who got me a free round on the fantastic Castle Stewart golf day. Another top three memorable golf day.

One I have forgotten, a GM day at a course at Leeds ( forgot which) reviewing footjoy/ Titleist gear.

Murcar was a cracking forum game. I came off the course level par, though we did only manage one hole before the snow/sleet drove us off the course. 😃
Think Junior saved my life getting me back to clubhouse before I went snow blind. Seem to remember by the time we got in Big Stu was on his third pint.

Up with the forum meet at Siloth as the coldest I have ever been on a golf course. Survived the Beast from the East.
These two trips have recently come up in my phone "photo memories". I miss those trips.

@Tashyboy the Leeds course was Moortown. I did the same event on a different day. Really interesting and I was wearing the freebie socks today 😄.

One for them, they showed us a pre launch version of the hydroknit jacket. I was wearing one today that I'd since bought. Ahead of it's time back then, I remember them being very excited about it.

That’s the one Moortown. It looked gorgeous. Us golfers reviewed in the morning and in the afternoon, buyers turned up. Th pro from our place walked into a room and he saw me. His jaw hit the floor 😂👍

The North West Order of Merit ran for a few years before families and life took over. We had some amazing days out , trips and golfing rivalries.

My personal faves were Formby and Royal Liverpool double header. The Mottram Hall Masters and playing a number of times at Wallasey,
Great times mate, a shame the NW lads dont meet up much, don't know why TBH.

Turnberry was colder.

I’ve had a rethink.
2016 when the guys at GM ran a comp to offer magazine subscribers on the forum a freebie to the first days play of the Open at Troon.
What a day, saw some golf in the morning then got absolutely smashed in the VIP tent 🍻
I still have the Stella pint glass I managed to “procure” 👀
Best memory of the day, getting back to the Wetherspoons in Irvine and seeing StuC almost face plant a curry as he was that drunk 🤣

That was epic, especially the curry night the night before. @Kraxx68 going to the gents in the curry house only to come out of the gents to find the table empty apart from the bill. Forumites hidden around the restaurant and outside stuck to the window. His “OMG” face when he picked up the bill… :ROFLMAO:

The following year in the para’s pub with Fish, followed by another monster curry - wow!

A Cooden trip when Nasher lost 11 million golf balls…

A couple of Woodhall trips - the look on Smiffy’s face when he couldn’t light his cigarette when there was water dripping off the end of it.
The H4H meet when Nasher disappeared backwards off a low wall into the bushes during the pre-night warmer-upper evening only to be rescued by big-Stu..... great memories. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Oh yes... he was well gone that night.... mind you I think you & I must have been fairly anesthetized to have shared the same room as Stu that night. Was indeed a really memorable trip.

No Turnberry was only four layers, Silloth was six.:)
Hey look... as a born-n-bred NE'er I can assure you that all of those & the Beast-from-the-east Trip were a bit more than a long sleeved tee-shirt.
I've 2 days back in Silloth this april with @LincolnQuaker's EngGolf stuff..... defo got my fingers crossed.
Great thread this!!!

Well I've read right through & can't believe, though given the memories from this Forum, can quite understand that the memory of Glynn @Lincolnquaker filling our diesel "Ireland Trip Bus" with petrol has not had a mention!! Oh they are endless.
