Our governing body, the EWGA, and the Men's EGU, both voted recently to merge to form England Golf operational from January 1st.
There's no website for England Golf and no other details about it, unless I'm missing something.
We used to be able to read the minutes from EWGA board meetings. I hope to be able to do the same for England Golf board meetings.
Any thoughts out there about this?

No - its title is England Golf. I suspect that there is an awful lot going on behind the scenes as this is a pretty major amalgamation even though it has been on the cards for a very long time. Both the EGU and EWGA websites are still running as they were before amalgamation.

I'm surprised there haven't been more comments on a new body, England Golf, which has control of our annual subs, and whose board must have met since the merger, yet there is no info available on what's happening, and still no website.
Yes, it's a big operation but, as 'rosecott' says, it was known about for a long time. The EWGA is running as before, but with a big exception. They have stopped publishing the minutes of their board meetings.
There's no mention on either of the EGU or EWGA websites for England Golf, other than links to the England Golf Partnership.

Somewhat bemused by this merger. It was stated that it had been brought about to unify the mens' and womens' games and present a more modern image. Yet very shortly my club will be holding a Ladies AGM, separate to the club AGM later in the month.

If it is a unified game why do the Ladies need a separate AGM? Or is it because they want equality when it is a benefit and separate arrangements when it does not?

Yeah..why is that
i dont want a separate ladies AGM...I had to go to two this year at my club - the ladies one to find out about our comps and handicaps, then the 'main' one to find out what our fees were going to be and to hear the officials talking about budgets and stuff

thats quite a few hours of my life that i will never get back!

Surely that's a decision taken by your club and nothing to do with Golf England. I suspect there's a rocky road ahead for the amalgamation with many clubs stuck in the last (or even last but one) century.

The merger was full of anomalies, and the biggest of these was allowing Clubs, and even Counties, to decide whether to merge their Men's and Women's sections. To me, this made a farce of their objectives of unifying the game.
It was also said that people considering taking up golf would be more attracted by the game having just the one governing body.
Really? Has anyone actually been put off taking up golf by thinking, 'Oh, I'm not sure about this, they've got two governing bodies'. Probably not.

The EGU website might be running as before, but my initial point was that the EWGA website is not running as
before. The minutes of the Operational and Management boards used to be published regularly. Are these
boards still convening? How are our subs being used?
If you click on any England Golf logo all that is shown is old stuff from over a year ago.
I guess that when the sun is shining and everyone is playing, they're not interested in what's happening behind the scenes.
