Electric Trolleys -specifically Go Kart

The reliability of the Go-Kart is irrelevent.

IF it goes wrong it gets fixed...... Quickly and it would seem cheaply or FOC.

IF PK/MC/HB trolleys go wrong would the same apply? I doubt it.

And even if a GK went wrong every week, if they keep collecting it and replacing it then where's the issue? You still have a trolley.

Anything mechanical is going to have it's good ones and bad ones. What's the least reliable car? Whatever it is there will be some that have never broken down while there will be others that are never on the road.

I'm glad many haven't had to call on PK/MC/HB Customer Service. But we've heard plenty on here from those that have.

I would be surprised if Motocaddy, Powakaddy or any of the other big names would give you a replacement if it was out of warranty, or pick it up. Most people I know who have had to send non GK trollies back have had to pay postage themselves and make their own arrangements while it was being fixed. GK is the epitomy of how customer service should be not just in the golf industry but in general.

So to summarise:
Other brands customer service = average or bad. Nobody posts about.

GoKart customer service = Awesome, and we're so suprised at it we make a post!

Got it?

I have absolutely no idea what powakaddy's customer service is like as I have never had the need to speak to them. I have had my trolley for over 4 years and even though I have let it fall over several times it seems to be made of sterner stuff than the go kart and not broken.

Got it??

What he said (substituting moto for powa)

I think the issue would be...going wrong, like on the golf course, when in use. Thats an issue. Forget the every week bit unless they come and get you on the 11th hole at the far end of the golf course.

Why is it than whenever anybody asks about the Gokart, and people who have spent their own money on them come on to answer and say how good they are etc. you get the GoKart haters come on her slagging them off.
Not just once, but every time?
Wasn't somebody bollocked on here the other week for commenting on for sale threads when they had no vested interest in them?
Doesn't this GoKart knocking amount to the same when it's from people who have never owned one, or have no intention of ever owning one?
Fair enough, if you have had one, had big problems with it and weren't satisified, comment.
But if not, why go on about them???
The guy asked for comments specifically from GoKart owners on what they thought of them.
:( :( :( :( :( :(

Speaking from my new experience with GoKart I can say that customer service isn't just for problems. The after service began less than 24 hours after ordering when I received an email from Sandy informing me that I had might have over ordered and item and that if it was a mistake they would sort it out for me and refund the additional costs! Now that is good service, I don't know how they make money with service like this but I hope to hell they keep on going from strength to strength.

From my point of view:

I have owned a Go-Kart pretty much since day one and I love it. I am sold for life on them and cannot see me buying another make of trolley. They are just good company to deal with and the people there are knowledgeable and helpful and that is what makes me stick with a brand.

This need not be a 'competition' with other trolleys. I have never owned anything else so have no personal point of comparison. The reason that I went for a Go-Kart in the first place was that I felt that the big named brands were too expensive and I stil feel that way. No matter how good they may be I would not pay £400-£500 for a trolley no matter what bells and whistles are attached. The pro at my club, which is a Powakaddy preferred dealer, has said that Powakaddy have got it very wrong with their last few models but are improving again now. Is that correct, I have no idea, never used one but it comes from someone who has every reason to support that brand. In fact, the pro shop has started stocking a second brand, Stowmattic, which they have never done before. That is a nice looking trolley in some great colours but, again, at nearly £500 it is well beyond what I would pay for a trolley.

So, the reason that I ended up with a Go-Kart was pure luck. I only had a couple of hundred quid that I wanted to spend and the name was mentioned in a news story in a magazine. They had no background and no reviews at the time but my contact with Sandy and the others there gave me enough confidence to go for one and I have not regretted for a moment since. That is not something I can say about many of my golf purchases.

I am not bashing any other trollies, they all do the same thing to the same extent after all but what I can say is that you do not get many people who are unhappy having bought a Go-Kart and that is the main thing.

I've had my PK Freeway coming up 5 years and I'm still on the original battery. I play on average 3-4 times a week all year round. Never had a any major problems with it and has never needed going back to HQ.

I will be selling the PK and getting myself a Go-Kart.
They all do the same thing which is carry stuff I cannot be bothered carrying. Regardless on how they look.

I recently bought a SLK55 and even though all my equipment just fits, I like how compact the Go-Kart is when folded. Having great customer service is just a added bonus.

Just had my GoKart returned after having it upgraded to auto. Wow!!! They must have taken one look at the one I sent and skipped it, (it was 4 years old and in a bit of a state) this one looks brand new, deffo different wheels, the old one had black and now they are white. The Motorcaddy Pro3 I won at new year will def be up for sale now. Thank you GoKart. Just one snag, I tried it out in the garden and now HID says I have to clean the kitchen floor lol.

That's excellent, definitely sold it for me. Just need that little bonus now!

I have had a Gokart for a couple of years, got the upgrade to automatic and cannot fault the trolley or the service. Does exactly what it says it will do. If only I could find clubs that work as well! Maybe that is user error.

The automatic thing seems strange to me, I enjoy not being tied to the trolley, walking along side it, completely disconnected, it just seems more relaxing, but with the automatic you have to hold it all the time. I just cant work out the advantage. I am going to have mine serviced soon so if anyone can tell me the advantage to the auto then please do and I may have the upgrade, if you can sell it to me.

Hi Mark, if you push on the handle, then let go, it carries on by your side. To stop it, you just apply a tiny bit of backward pressure on the handle and it stops. Using it is just instinctive, you push it off, let it go and never think about it. Keep close though....

Well that answers that question, it seemed strange to me that you had to be holding the handle all the time, now I know I wont have to then maybe I will treat myself to the upgrade. Thanks for the info.

still can't work out what advantage the automatic is supposed to give you, on my motocaddy I press a button and off it goes and I can walk alongside it if I choose, seems pointless to me.

I put a write up in the "review" section last Friday but just to say. My trolley developed a fault whilst still at the tail end of the warranty last week. Living fairly close, I went to their place, they fixed the fault, put on the automatic drive and tarted up the odds and sods that were tatty and gave the trolley a new 2 year warranty - all in about an hour. They gave me coffee while I waited and I have tried the auto mechanism a couple of rounds now and it works pretty well.

Where the new control works well is that, on the flat, you can set a speed and walk with the Kart which is very stable and when you reach an incline push it a little more and the speed picks up (opposite on downslope). Its just easier than the old method which is an on/off button and a roller speed control.
