carried all season and now knackered especially in the rain, been looking at the Go Kart website and it looks promising especially this new automatic thing it does.

I like the idea of 28 day no questions trial, anyone tried that and was there any issues?
Anyone got a Go Kart and any issues or should I just plump for the brand named Powakaddy?

Go with the go kart they do honour the 28 day return with no problem. I have had one almost since they were first released and have no qualms about recommending them. Sandy a director of go kart posts on the forum so do not be surprised if you get a message from her.

Another recommendation for Go-kart here, value for money wise you cant do any better imo.

Whcih reminds me that I should contact Go-kart really as mine has developed a tendancy to pull to the left

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Sandy yesterday and saw the new "Automatic" GoKart in the flesh. It's absolutely fantastic, and an upgrade will be available for current GoKart owners to convert theirs to automatics too. Having seen the new one in action, I will be upgrading as soon as it is available.
I have owned my GoKart for over two years now, and it has never let me down. The 18 hole battery I bought it with can easily do 36 holes, no problem.
I have had a couple of small problems (self inflicted) but these were sorted out very quickly and at no cost to myself.
In the case of the biggest problem it meant the GoKart going back to base for a repair, but mine was picked up next day, a trolley was loaned to me whilst mine was being repaired, and my original one was delivered back to me a few days later. Although the problem was of my making, I wasn't charged a penny.
I am GoKarts biggest fan and would recommend them to anybody.
If my one went bang tomorrow I would buy another one without a moments hesitation.

well thats high praise indeed, I really like the website and language on it, their ethos, values and customer service echo mine so looking good.

I didnt see this automatic thing mentioned on a new trolley though, what is it exactly and why is it better? I wonder if its on any new trolley purchased?

The automatic trolley is a new version and I don't think it's on general sale at the moment..although it's not going to be long before it's available.
The standard (current) GoKart has an on/off switch and a "roller" speed control. Works very well anyway.
The new automatic version does away with the roller and has a touch sensitive bar instead. You just touch it, start walking, and the trolley adjusts it's speed to your walking pace. If you want to speed up/slow down a little, just adjust your pace. It works in reverse too...just back up, the trolley senses it and it will go backwards.
Stop walking, and the trolley stops.
It really is a superb inovation, and increases the appeal of an already good product.
I think the automatic version is going to be sold alongside the current model so you will have a choice.
The auto version will obviously be more expensive than the standard trolley but then the opposition charge more for similar technology, so only to be expected.
Depends on how much you want to pay, what you want the trolley to do and how quickly you want it.
But as I say, the automatic is such a good idea, I will be paying for an upgrade to mine as soon as it becomes available.

A few weeks ago I took delivery of a brand new GoKart. I've used it once so far. Verdict - very nice, simple, transportable, light, very easy-up and down, etc.

The battery didn't quite last 36 holes (in fact about 20ish) but that was after only one charge. I'm sure that will improve. A little bit noisey when the course is quite but not intrusive.

One very slight niggle is that the scorecard plastic flap joint has broken off already.

So far, after one outing, I am pleased.

I have the powakaddy freeway, had it over two and a half years and touch wood, not a glitch. I play on average 5 times a week and a couple of times each week during the winter. Never needed to have anyone come get it, never needed anyone give me a replacement while it’s being sorted, the battery is still the original, it’s quiet, fast, easy to fold away, fits the boot a treat and does what it says on the tin. My bag is a titleist tour bag with two sets of waterproofs a couple of tops, tons of balls and god knows what else, all quite heavy. Oh, I have another battery...dont need it yet.

Bosh, done.

Go Karts are brilliant.

It's light, easy to operate and compact when folded, and my battery does 36 holes (did so at Cooden Beach with no issue!), but then I don't always switch it on if I need to do 36... only uphill or when in the thick stuff. Otherwise it's a doddle to push without power.

The customer service if and when you need it is superb. Certainly a million times better than when something goes wrong with a Powakaddy or Motocaddy (in my experience anyway).

Best thing I've bought for golf, hands-down. It's a good idea to get the transit bag, so you don't mess up the boot of your car.

Glad you enjoyed using the Auto! Just one little amend; the Auto feature doesn't allow the trolley to drive backwards. It adjusts the speed (start/faster/slower/stop) in the one forward direction.
Maybe you just thought the earth moved, Smiffy?

And yes, correct, the Auto will be sold alongside the standard and will be £40 more expensive. And the Standard will be upgradable although it's a back-to-base job. News on that soon.
Great game yesterday. Laughed a lot. In a good way :)

Isn't old age a wonderful thing :D

Another huge GK fan here. I had a battery issue which was sorted out with no quibbles and given the amount of golf I've played over the last 2-3 years since I got it, there has been no issues with performance or reliability and I can get 36 holes from my 18 holer battery although I try not to do this on a regular basis

It did Sandy. More than once.
:D

Not sure what I missed! If it was flatulance, I must have been lucky to be standing upwind!

Just want to reiterate that the new trolley was a pleasure to use - it nearly had me reaching for the credit card! I also liked the lithium battery option.

Sandy - many thanks for a great day - looking forward to a return visit when the greens are stimping at 11 and also welcoming you to our course.

Everybody seems to sing the praises of Go Kart's customer services but I would personally buy a trolley that doesn't have to go back to the manufacturer all the time. I'll be sticking with my Motocaddy S3, it's never let me down, still on the original battery, looks good and isn't made of plastic.
