Go Kart Electric Trolley

Dufferman, I'm gonna presume that you come on this thing every day but just so you know, I don't. Do folk actually come on this every day? I know that the guy Liverpool Phil was all over this like a rash and I seriously thought that he was either addicted or he had nobody to talk to other than a computer page.

Anyway, I have no experience at all with the GoKart and I never will have! I did see someone using one once so they do sell up here, good for him, he was maybe buying cheap which is fine or having an Eco Friendly attitude that when it packs in he can shove it in his recycling bin.

Question - With any trolley, why would you bother fixing something after say 3, 4 or 5 years when you can just go and buy another one?
I don't think there's any other way of saying this. You're coming across as a presumptuous, patronising and arrogant git. You're making sweeping statements on a product you've never used or had any experience on.

For info. I have a good job working for a major multi-national company on a decent salary with a reasonable (12) handicap.

I drive a Skoda Superb company car (great vehicle) and if you say you haven't seen a Skoda on the road then you must be driving around with your eyes closed. I have had my GoKart for 8 years and it's provided sterling service, is robust, reliable and with a strong motor. My course is hilly but careful placement means the chance of it tipping are rare. As stated above, the customer service is superb.

I am pleased that you have sufficient funds to be able to spend £500 every 4 years on a trolley that needs to be replaced that frequently. Personally I'd be concerned that my trolley would need to be replaced that often. My GoKart cost me £200 and has lasted 8 years and I can't see any need to replace it any time soon. A quick scrub with soap and water over the weekend had it looking like new. And if you wish, for circa £100 GoKart will service the trolley, replace any old parts and have it running like new with a 2 year warranty. Far better than forking out £500 on a dodgy trolley every four years.

To the original poster. GoKart are great trolleys and I would highly recommend from a long-time user.

I always assumed it was either Motocaddy or Powakaddy so to read these glowing reports on GoKart, it is reassuring!

Like has been mentioned, I wouldn't want to fork out over £500 for an electric trolley, so will look into GoKart ones.

Sorry to hijack thread - it seems Lithium battery is the way to go now then?

I am always amazed though how these simple threads about leccy trollies can turn into slanging matches.

Usually by people that have never owned said trolley in question.
Be a bit different if they had actually put their own money into one and been let down, but no.
Some people are only happy if they are peeing on other peoples bonfires.

But to be fair, in some circumstances you can comfortably judge with your eyes and have an opinion without owning or using something, there are certainly some cars for instance that I just hate the look of and would never consider trying or owning, so what's the difference when someone is looking at a golf trolley and saying, no thank you very much, that looks pig ugly!

We buy with our eyes initially, don't we?

Personally for me I don't like the look of the go kart think they look cheap maybe it's the plastic frame. But it's not for me also I have a hill billy like this going years I mean years never washed or anything I don't even take a air line to it and it just won't die lol I think in the time I have had it I have only put in one switch and x amount of battery's hillbilly-golf-trolley-20150424152338.jpg also this season she's been upgraded to a big 36 hole battery just rammed in between the bars fits like a small glove on a large hand lol

Anyways with powercaddy owning them now I think my next trolley will be the motocaddy S1 good price and has nice build quality and looks.

I think the Go Kart is Waaaaay better looking than that Hill Billy in the photo.......its won design awards for innovation and uses advanced manufacturing techniques.
Not sure where people get this "cheap plastic" idea from.

That hilly billy looks like it has been made by a hill billy who has raided the local breakers yard, bloody horrible looking thing. Hate to say it the Go kart
looks a little better but if it was down to these two then I would take that guys fishes advice and carry my bag.

"Go Kart look cheap" then posting that picture as something that looks better!

But he's not saying "No thank you very much" is he Robin.
He's making comments on every single thread about GoKarts running the product down, which would be different if he had actually owned one, or had a bad experience with the company.
There are plenty of cars I don't like the look of, plenty of golf clubs come to that.
The OP asked for opinions from people who actually own one, or have at least used one.
The guy in question has done neither so adds nothing to the thread.

I was going to post exactly the same comment. I've no problem with people saying they don't like the looks but to belittle its performance, longevity and reliability with no knowledge or experience of the product is, quite frankly, pathetic and ridiculous.
The old Hill Billy shown on the photo is from a time when Hill Billy really made them to last. I don't care what it looks like as long as it works.
IMHO one great design of golf trolley, not necessarily on looks but on it's ability to pack down to a tiny size and its reliability (based on the fact blokes at our place are still using after the company went bust in 2009) was the TopCart, made in Newton Mearns, Scotland.
Not elegant to look at but a great design that folds down as small as anything on the market today.

Good to know you can give things you've never used a glowing review.

I'll see you in 5 days time when you pop back on ;)

Just reading some of the posts and some people saying how reliable they are then in the next sentence telling us what has gone wrong[sort of a contradiction].

Also people telling us how there's has never gone wrong but the service and aftercare is second to none[another contradiction].

People also defending against the comment of "cheap plastic looking" well plastic is cheap otherwise these trolleys would be more the high end range.

I think you are missing the point.
Anything mechanical will need replacement parts if you use it enough.
I think this thread justs shows most Go Kart owners are very pleased with the product, as requested by the original poster.
Seems strange to me for some to argue othewise but that is the whole raison d'etre of forums.

It happens every time a thread comes up on the GoKart.
My problems were minor. A bungee elastic broke.
I didn't moan about it. I didn't contact GoKart.
I was quite willing to go out and buy a "normal" bungee strap to replace it.
Sandy (from GoKart) saw mention of it on the forum.
The following day, a new bungee strap arrived through the post, no charge.
That is brilliant service. You can't put a price on it.
Yet some will still bloody moan that a bungee strap shouldn't have broken.
I despair, I really do.
