It's great shooting Bill but I dont think it counts fully. Still you should be proud, assuming you were lowest gross, what was next?

Yea won the overall actually mate , but it was lowest gross by a long way tho

Won gross in the 13 hole winter league in the club with -2 , 2 weeks ago

I don't think it matters if it 'counts' or not - great golf non the less

Personally below would be my take on it - preferred lies are no problem, it's an accepted part of playing winter golf. Being able to place the ball when you've put it deep into the rough kind of isn't and takes away a fundamental element of the game ie keeping the ball in play. Just the way I see it though.

Society tees are another thing. In my opinion they make no difference to whether you shot par or not, but if it's not a measured course with an officially sanctioned SSS then it's tough to quantify what par equates to. I really look at personal bests against SSS for that course and tee rather than par - I'm the member of 2 clubs and the SSS of the shorter off the yellows is 4 shots different than the SSS of the longer off the whites. My lowest off the short course off the yellows is lower than my lowest from the whites on the longer course. It's not necessarily my PB though.

Yellow tees, I remember best rounds from yellows and whites separately so no probs there.

Preferred lies, again no problem.

Placing everywhere. That's a step too far for me.

Good golf, I'd be rightly chuffed to bits about my game but it wouldn't count as my PB.

Great score though Bill

Great shooting that, well done. Don't really understand why some are saying it doesn't count though? You had to hit the ball round the course and put it in the hole 18 times. In doing so you beat par. There's your answer. Nice one.
