guys - got a 2 week trip planned with the family in August, and managed to get agreement from the fun police that I could take my clubs with me - staying right near the bottom, in a place called perranuthnoe.

So, where should I play?

Cheers, Rob

If you've got a full day out to yourself do the drive back up to St Enodoc. You won't be disappointed!

Perranporth isn't too bad. Quirky with lots of blind shots, but also a lot closer to where you'll be.

If you are ok to drive a little bit then St Enodoc as mentioned also St Mellion and Trevose and also Perranporth

For something that's achievable in half a day, you're only 15 miles from Mullion which is a nice track, played it when I was on holiday a couple of years ago. Found it a very friendly and welcoming club.

Hi Robert. I lived in that neck of the woods for 20 years until last year. Mullion, West Cornwall are two top courses and will cost no more than 30 quid, even cheaper on twighlight deals. Both have stunning views and greens. Tehidy is nice if you want a Parkland layout. St Enodoc if you want a top experience but can be hard to get on/expensive. Perranporth is like Marmite, a unique experience, although personally I love it. Any Q's then happy to help further.

hey, quaker - thanks!

Never thought about entering comps when I've been away on hols, but it seems the perfect thing to do! - guaranteed game, playing partners, and competitive golf, i'll definitely be entering a couple of these!

I'm heading there in Feb! My grandmother in law lives there. Very nice village and some cracking beaches. No idea about nearby courses though. I'd suggest St Mellion, but the A30 is in pieces at the moment so you'll be wanting to avoid using it like the plague.

St Enedoc, Trevose and West Cornwall would be my recommendations. All three great tracks, great locations and friendly reception.

Personally I would avoid West Cornwall. There are too many holes where tees have been moved back in an attempt to lengthen the course and are now in the firing line from the previous hole. I was very nearly hit on 3 occasions by the group behind. Perranporth is much better, very quirky but great fun.

Booo hissssssss ;
Oh here we go. The Perranporth debate again 😁.

Brilliant course. Great fun with amazing views.

Trevose one large field with about 4 good holes. Certainly won't be rushing back there.

St Enodoc, also brilliant. Don't know why Gordon doesn't like it

Oi!! Get yer facts straight! St Enodoc is one of my all time favourite courses, hope you're not confusing me with some Trevose lover :eek:

I'd second all of those opinions about the courses.
