Played quite a few of those already mentioned... I remember the cart ride at Aphrodite Hills with some trepidation!

Used to have a photo of me on 17th at Sawgrass as my avatar.. it's the sort of hole you look across at as you walk the length of the excellent 16th before it!

Additional thoughts...

5th at Anstruther Slightly bonkers but marvellous

18th at Mahoney's Point, Killarney. Much photographed and oh for the days when you could play in the west of Ireland for sensible money! Crikey, there's some corkers at Tralee too!

All three of the par 3s on the East at Saunton. SIs 16, 17 and 18. (I know why) but in terms of the easiest to score points, nothing of the kind. Many say the West is the weaker course at Saunton, but 16th and 18th are wonderful (not so) short holes.... the 4th and 11th are no slouch either!!

5th and 9th holes at Burnham, and what about 17th? Tough as can be!

I am playing Porthcawl in the morning... all the par 3s there are really good. 4th could be a driver or a 8 iron, depending on the wind!

I could go on (and on and on....)

Good question. My faves are usually shorter holes:

Also like to add that I think Princes now has the best collection of par 3's I can think of. The new short holes are magnificent, but the bunkerless 7th on Himalayas to a table top green is genius.

Although water often makes a par 3 look spectacular / intimidating, it's a one dimensional hazard. The challenge of run-offs and bunkers is much more entertaining.

The 4th at Royal County Down is as special as it gets.

3rd @ Hindhead is as tough as they come.
I loved the 9th at Burnham, especially with the new tee area etc.

7th at Hankley…

I'm a big fan of a short par 3, under 150.
Postage stamp at Troon, 11th at Castle Stuart. Nairn 4th. Strathmore has great little short hole over pond 100 yards.

If I could design my ‘perfect’ course, I’d have 4 Par 3’s…all teeing off in different directions, one, being very short (120 yards or so), one at 200 yards, one at 175 yards and one at 150 yards…one going uphill, one going downhill, with a variation of greens slopes…

But yes, in a nutshell, shorter par 3’s are more fun and often much trickier than longer ones, if it’s a well-designed hole

I like the 17th at Chartham Park … over a small lake and bunkers on each side of the green.

Also the island green at the West Midlands (18th?)

Extra pleased then to have birdied the 3rd at Hindhead 😁😁😁😁

I can’t birdie it for love nor money. Based on my scores on IG, I played it 57 times with 0 birdies - average of 3.7.

I have birdied every other hole on the course in that timeframe and eagled 2 holes as well.

Even if I find the green, i can’t work out the subtle breaks. It’s the hole that I’m most likely to miss a 4 footer on.

My problem with these types of questions is that I have trouble remembering which holemis which..
I've played loads during H4H games but as they're always shotgun starts it messes with my recollection of hole numbers....
I like the short 100 yarder or so at Blackmoor , I like the 11th at Hayling as I always seem to par it, there's a nice short one at Hankley (2nd?)
I like our 10th too....140 yards , about 15 yards downhill, 2 tier green, bunker in front, 2 bunkers left and one right and a drop-off if you go long.
And OB all down the left side....
