As I said in my OP, I'm proud of him, proud that he's got to another final, proud that he's put so many doubters in their place, proud that he's smashed that tit Henman and proud that he's Scottish.

Sorry but the last time we could, any of us, claim to be separate was prior to the various Acts of Union.

The last of these was, I believe, in 1801. We are a homogeneous nation primarily made up of Celts, Gaels and Anglo Saxons to which has been added various other races and nationalities.

There is no such thing as a typical Englishman or Scot as there will always be regional differences and there remain Celtic influences in England and Anglo Saxon influences in Scotland.

For my sins I am a Brummie but that does not mean I necessarily have more in common with a Londoner than I might have with a Glaswegian.
