Tomorrow I have a money game, strict rules of golf, which means
that I'll have to play with fourteen golf clubs,
just as you chaps claim to do.

Golf clubs, as you well know, are obscenely expensive,
and the thought of having to leave one more at home than I usually do
seems beyond absurd. But such is the way of the world, at least for tomorrow.

So now, I have to configure a fourteen club set,
this when I've always complained about having only fifteen full-length dividers in my cart [buggy] bag.

I'm going with this, just ONE fairway club [Heavenwood] above my 6-iron.
I figure I'll need all the short game help I can get.

What do you think?

Your mistake is not having a bag with a seperate putter pocket.
As the pocket is not in the bag the club in it does not count as one of 14 :ROFLMAO:

It’s got nothing to do with rules and handicapping

You have 15 clubs and want to play with 14 - so pick one to drop 🤷‍♂️

And the simple answer is - no one needs a 64 degree wedge
Having what one needs is surviving, Arturo.
Living requires having things that one WANTS.

My sand iron happens to have 64° loft.
It's not part of the loft gapping progression like a fairway club.
It's my utility SAND iron. It's there for ONE thing.

If you look at the big red X, I've already gotten down to fourteen.
I was just, mostly for fun, seeking opinions of my choices.

If it's a serious money match you could consider dropping down to five clubs so you have less to worry about and concentrate on the golf.

That would require a level of shotmaking above my pay grade.
Fourteen clubs seem like a reduced, manageable number to me.

As for a serious money match,
it's 2v2 better ball, match play,
and none of us have "serious" money.

It's a handsome bet for us, but nobody is going to get actually hurt.
Nonetheless, I have reasons to really want to win this match.

Indeed…and no one needs six wedges…not unless they are Aunt Bessie’s Crisp & Fluffy. I second arfur…get rid of the 64.
Suggested noted...but add what?

As for the six wedges, a brief overview, just as an explanation.

The T350 iron set is two clubs stronger than what I've played in the past.

The 43° set wedge is the equivalent of a classic era 8-iron.
The 48° set wedge is the equivalent of a classic era 9-iron.
The 53° set wedge is almost the equivalent of a classic era pitching wedge.

The SM10 58-08 has a versatile "M Grind" sole which is capable of full or near full shots, one club shorter than the 53.

The SM10 60-04 has a "T Grind" sole that's horrific for both full shots and greenside bunker play.
It's specifically designed for finesse greenside chips and lobs after short-side misses.

The 64° wedge is not part of the set's loft gapping progression.
It's my specialty sand iron, used ONLY for that one person.

My three "add-on wedges" are all specialists, not general practitioners.

To many wedges. Dump the 64 and open the face a little on the 60 if required. 👍
Good luck and let us know how much you win. 👍

No idea why someone would need a 58 and 60 degrees wedge

And then why need a 64 degree wedge

That’s two wedges not needed

58 lob wedge - 53 as the SW ( but can use the 58) - 48 is the Gap Wedge

Leaves more space at the top end where there are prob massive gaps
