My club allow you to play the weekend comp on the Friday or the Saturday, both days have their own separate CSS, with only one overall winner.
Question , if someone scores say a net 70 on the Friday and the days CSS is 69, then someone scores a 70 on the Saturday and the CSS is say 72.
Shouldn't that be taken into account, instead of the normal count back used ?.

Totally up to the club's rules - the reality is that absolute scores are normally used is such situations (I've never known anyone use the relative scores, although it's been a point of discussion from time to time).

1) The course and weather conditions and course set up could be very different.
2) The composition of the field is different.

No problem for handicapping but prize allocation is a problem as in the OP.

In Scotland we can have all the seasons within a few hours, never mind over 2 days
.Also the course parameters remain the same over the 2 day event.

The composition of the field will be reflected by the different CSS each day.

If a player is 2 under the CSS he should win over a F/C who's only 1 under the CSS , IMHO of course.:D

The course and weather conditions can be very different from morning to afternoon. That said, I agree that only having one prize for an alternate day comp is wrong.
