Btw- How old is Simon Holmes and how old was he when he was Faldos Coach 20 odd years ago?
He only looks about late 40s at the most.

Another 59. Should we expect more?
Another article on BBC talking about getting more people interested in golf. Written by Iain Carter. He talks mainly about having a second cut at 54 holes in order to make the final round faster.
I haven't really thought about this in length but two 59's in successive weeks had me thinking. Is this golf's design to make the game more attractive? Set the course up so low scores are possible. Get more big drives, more scoring opportunities, get low scores, break records ... etc.... people will talk more about the golf and viewing figures will rise?
If we see another or two more rounds of 59, there must be something in this!

This is nothing new, modern technology has been chipping away at the skill set required to play golf for years.
Because golf has been seen as a difficult sport to learn manufacturers have been changing the sport from a skill to a power sport to try to entice more people in but IMHO at the expense of those who already play.
