Evening folks,

I need your advice please regarding an incident that occured tonight during the Wednesday medal.

I was playing with two guys who were friends and welcomed me to join them in order to play in the medal. The round of golf was fair and quite non eventful until the 18th fairway ... the older guy in the group had problems controlling his bladder and had to nip behind a bush at the side of the 18th green and then played onto the green and putted out and here is where the problem arose . . . he offered me a hand shake with the hand that was holding his little member seconds earlier and I had a split second to think about it.

My question is ......

What would YOU have done in tha same situation?

P.S. I always carry hand sanitiser and I never 'go' on the course.

Here is how I avoided an awkward situation,

I held my hat and putter in my right hand and said I had hurt it playing my approach shot and he accepted my left handed hand shake ;)

My first question would have to be: Was there any obvious drippage :p?

Then no, I'd tell him to go whistle!!

After all if he complained in the clubhouse most people would be on your, sanitary, side (Iknow I would)!

Don't worry about it mate, shake hands and wash them when you get back to the cub. Think this is my rugby mentality coming through.

Going on the cours is a must.

Sorry but, a left handed hand shake. Thats a big no no. I would of shook with the right, and used me water bottle straight after. Then washed in the bogs!

i am sure urine is sterile even if it does belong to someone else used to wash wounds with it on the battle field
apparently .......i've looked in the rule book and it doesn't mention this in the etiquette section perhaps someone should contact the r and a . i thought relieving ones self on the course is an absolute no no.it couldn't have smelled worse than the bottle of south african red i opened tonight.....bloody awful

Whats wrong with having a jimmy on the course???

I have never played an 18 and not hat to have 1 or 2 visits to the bushes.

Infact, at our place we have p!$$ corner (6th tee) and the P!$$ tree (15th tee) that are preferred places for most.

At the end of the day, Im not going to walk back in and neither am I going to tie a knot in it.

Madandra,

Old guys are usually good at working out the windage and elevation so there might not have been a problem.

Did you avoid the rain last night ? some rather sharp showers in our neck of the woods last night.

I have often thought this too.

On the other hand there are plenty of people who don't wash their hands afterwards, and then use door handles etc.

I am getting to be a bit of a Howard Hughes on this.

As for washing hands, I always have a few baby wipes in the bag, I know somebody who lifted wiped and placed under winter rules and ended up with fox-[****] on his hands which is the most vile smell ever.

I always wet-wipe after a pee on the course.

I always wet-wipe after a pee on the course.

Very civilised down south!

What do you then do with the pee-stained wet wipe after usage - Tuck it in with the water-bottle and mars bars?

Is there anything you don't carry in your golf bag?

p.s Best post this year Madandra, talking about the issues that really matter! Keeping it real!

Mate, if you have some sort of Howard Hughes thing going on then I can understand. Otherwise, shake his hand and then go and wash yours right away whats the issue?

I always wash my hands directly after coming off the course, before I pee or anything else. I think you should be more worried about the stuff they spray on the course etc.

a guy i play with regularly has some sort of condition, he must go for 4 or 5 every round!!

i personally wouldn't have had a problem with it, needs must and all that.

i agree with oldwindy though, bit strange doing it when he did. unless it's an alpha male marking his territory sorta thing????
