Adjustable drivers- do they do what they say they do?

Fix the problem and hit whatever driver you want
Surely you realise how difficult that is Homer ? For someone who hits a consistent fade or slice, draw or hook to be able to adjust the club to straighten the ball flight seems a great option. Also if you do improve your swing you can just adjust the club back to a standard setting.

I played with someone the other day that has got a draw bias driver, not adjustable. Has had some lessons with the Pro, and now hits a lovely soft draw with all his clubs apart from his driver which he can't hit now, as it has a built in hook. If he had an adjustable driver no problems

I tinker with my Titleist 910 setting, but tend to change the loft rather than than the draw/fade bias. I would imagine better players like to have the options of perhaps increasing the loft in the winter, or reducing it when playing in the wind ?

I have to be honest and say I've not bought into the adjustable driver market at all. In my mind its a band-aid fix for a more serious swing flaw. Fix the problem and hit whatever driver you want

In an ideal world then yes, fix it.

But what if you can't fix it?
What if you just can't get the technique the Pro is trying to teach you?

And anyway, most people, once they've found a setting that suits them don't tinker much at all..

I'm not arguing with you. I had a draw bias club to neutralise my left to right drives but once I started having lessons and learned to swing on a better path the bias became a hinderence and not a help and so I ended up getting a standard 10.5 driver anyway. I can 100% see the logic in adjusting the loft to get more run/carry and that makes perfect sense as you are aren't covering up any mistakes.

I'm a tinkerer with my game at the best of times and for me these adjustable drivers would be too tempting to keep getting the wrench out (not in a comp naturally) and blame the set up for a bad swing. Maybe I'm being a bit of a luddite having swapped to a more GI type of club for greater forgiveness but I can't find it in me to rely on the technology to mask my short comings

Surely that is a contradiction right there? You dont want the technology to mask flaws yet use a more GI type of club
