Well if you go by the “I do my distances is total not carry” theory, your 7 iron, despite adding 1 mph swing speed and 2 mph ball speed you lost 9 yards in distance - so that would be a bad thing.
In fact, you spun it more and had a greater descent angle which are both good things for the same carry.
Could this be because you're using a 13° driver? Or have you definitely hit it further with that driver before? After an indoor session yesterday I realise I am going backwards... especially with driver. Falling below 200 yrds total distance. Worrying. Strange things is that I don't really feel that I am hitting it worse. So, I need to figure something out.
Yeah, I am thinking about turning down the loft. But two things are stopping me: I had a 15 (!!) degree driver before and my best shots with that were further. And I have indeed hit this driver longer before. I think I'll get some lessons come spring time.Could this be because you're using a 13° driver? I know you use some kooky gear, but the Honma might just not be a great driver for you. Might be way more spinny than your older one for example, hence the high loft wouldn't be needed? Good point. However, it appears that these latest numbers are the result of a glitch in Trackman: the numbers are in meters, but appear in my app as yards. That explains a lot... still good to remain critical about the gear. I will crank down the loft a bit.I know you use some kooky gear, but the Honma might just not be a great driver for you. That's the way to do it. I hit my 7i about 145yds - sometimes - but it's all I've got...the rest is 'depends' and luckI consider carry and total expected, estimated wind speed and direction at ground level compared with estimated wind speed and direction at 30ft, temperature, humidity, uphill/downhill/flat and whether I'm feeling fit-and-strong or knackered.
Then I whack it the same as ever and hope for the best.
Don’t think it’s an age, more of a physical thing.. so if you have a sedentary lifestyle you could be at a disadvantage. How old is old?
And, try and do something about the restrictions and physical limitations.Don’t think it’s an age, more of a physical thing.. so if you have a sedentary lifestyle you could be at a disadvantage.
You could also be carrying injuries as well which restricts you..
Basically don’t get hung up on this -“dance with the partner you brought “ and work with that find a teaching pro who can help and respects your physical limitations.
But you can just enjoy the game as well and some good food and drinks in the bar ..
Once I had my accident i had visions of 350 yard drives and looking like Robocop. And, try and do something about the restrictions and physical limitations.
Good point. My kids think I'm old but to some on this forum I would still be a youngster even as I'm approaching the big five oh.How old is old?
