Driver Shafts

Think I’ll give the pro a shout, see what he says…..
Could end up being expensive 🤣🤣

It does not need to be that expensive.

Always lots of shafts on ebay.

I have bought many shafts via that site and resold the ones I did not like.

A second choice would be golf clubs for cash for finding shafts

During fitting for my shiney new irons I tried my driver out. Smack 230 on the nose. Just what I expected. A few more hits and same result. The bloke at AG looked at the stats and said I should be more than that. He wandered off into the shop and came back with a 9 deg stiff shaft. Also he changed my set up. 250 immediately. Apparently I'm at about 93mph. Longer shaft on driver so faster. I'm currently awaiting a driver to be delivered with these new specs. If it stops raining I'll be able to test it as well. Maybe......

I had a club check up at PXG yesterday and as part of that they had a look at my driver. Had a go with a load of shafts and the winner was one that I wouldn't have looked at in a million years and the fitter didn't even tell me what it was. It was a Project X Denali Red but it was an ultra light at 40g, technically it's a shaft designed for ladies!! My swing speed is 97mph and it just worked, apparently I have a pretty low spin driver swing and so the lower spinning shafts haven't helped me. This shaft is a high launch/high spin type job and I was getting far longer carry and the dispersion was greatly improved. As luck would have it I found a second hand one on GolfClubs4Cash for £50.00 that already has the right adapter so I have ordered that to give it a go rather than spending full whack on one.

Anyway, my point is that flex is only a small part of is especially as there is no industry standard as to what regular is vs stiff from manufacturer to manufacturer so you really have to try things out and keep an open mind.
