In our rollup we play singles strokeplay (stableford scoring) plus most groups will also play a 4BBB match alongside. We adhere to single strokeplay rules. If the 4BBB match took precedence and we played as a pair, then for all of the reasons given above it would not be appropriate to submit our cards as singles strokeplay for WHS purposes.

Yet our 4 ball handicap is based solely on out ability in singles strokeplay. Surely if we to have one single handicap it ought to be based on all the scores from the miriad of formats in which that handicap will be used.
The % stroke allowances applied to our CH for the various formats does that for us.

A lot of our players do similar but they play better ball stableford as matches then to go all the way to the 18th. The singles play takes precedence as despite 2 players playing as a pair one does not want to actually help out the other as the are playing against each other for the kitty. Many of then submit cards. There is a lot of ribbing of those that do not as often ,in particular one player, they are one of the kitty winners.
