Do I have to?

OK, in the interests.

Subs (1+1jnr) £500
Green fees £430
Equipment (+balls and gloves) probably £510
Total £1,440

Money back £280-ish (G5 driver, putters (x2), irons)

Net spend £1,160

Not too bad. :)

Here we go...
£540 on subs

Loads on drivers, putters, woods and hybrids, trolleys and the like - but sold lots too so probably only £200 down on the deals over the year.
About £100 on away-days (don't get many)
£150 on green fees during non-membership stage.

So about a grand all told - could have been worse.

Next year could be.

I started this year with no kit at all, except my beanie and baseball cap! Next year should be cheaper!

Subs £400
Clubs £1600
Balls £85
Trolley £280
Bag(s) £170
'Away' green fees & strokesavers £180
Shoes £50
Clothes inc. waterproofs £200
Bits & Bobs £40
Comps £10
Petrol (est.) £40
Buying second hand kit on ebay then selling again after I decided to carry on playing lost £80

I make that £3,135 although looking at that lot my vision is like Robocop trying to arrest his boss!

I thought my expenses were bad!
Spent around e1200 euros on golf this year, mind you I've got time to spend a whole day looking for golf balls and tees on the course during my school holidays!

First year as a club member and also first year of serious golf so with subs, joining fees, new driver, new irons waterproofs, quality balls and everything else you are probably looking at around £2500 and all with the wifes blessing.

Heck
Totally renewed everything
£1000 on a new set of Ping G15's Driver + 3 + 5 Wood, 23 Degree Hybrid. Irons 5 to Sw
Further 35 on 52 wedge, itsy putter £65
golf bag £70
Balls about £50

Green Fees about £250

Thats about £1500
but I have my old Mizuno set to ebay plus a big bertha driver, plus a couple of old putters plus a stand bag plus an old rescue club

so that may offset a bit.
Next year should be just green fees and balls,( thats if she lets me play)
