am sure barb has digested the advice submitted by your self and that of others too. But i feel, and am sure others do to that it is not advice you are giving or intended to do in the first place. Imo it seemed more like an oportunity to quickly condemn rather than whisper in the ear.

I think as a community we should be showing masses of support for one another, especialy in times of need like in barb's case. My summary of the incident could be described in as little as 2 words. Mountain, molehill. (hope molehill is one word)

Your comments are noted Tony and I certainly haven't taken offence. However, I stand by what I said. The ladies can do as they please in their comps. but the rules are above that. I can give you examples of top-class professional golfers being penalised for inadvertently breaking the rules. Why shouldn't a high-handicapper take advice regarding the rules of the game?

Hi
All advice given on this forum is greatly appreciated :) and has been noted and stored away for future reference and will be passed onto the ladies of my club if necessary.
Regards
Barb

p.s. I didn't think my post would cause such a stir

Just read through this thread and my opinion is firmly in the Homer & Leftie court. I believe Barb did nothing wrong by practising on a different course, official comp or not, but thanks to shanker for pointing out a possible infringement which will prevent any of us doing it in the future. The 30 handicap jibe was maybe a bit low.
I hope you enjoy the bottle of Vino Barb (or has it already been enjoyed?) ;)
