Your Most Bizarre shot.

Playing our 8th, 192 yard par 3 with OOB left and right. Pulled a shot left and had time to say to myself hit a tree, hit a tree, hit a tree to stop it going OOB. It hit a tree with a great sounding thwack.....which sent it OOB on the right hand side.

Not one of my best days!

A slicey drive on our 8th left my ball up a tree at about shoulder height.

I've also had a few balls taken by crows from around our 9th green.

Funniest I've seen was my mate's son skying a drive into a fierce headwind. The ball ended up on the clubhose roof, about 20 yards behind the 1st tee.

Playing at Harpenden common, when i started, sliced my drive onto the old A6 (1081) and hit the 321 bus from St Albans. Re loaded same again and hit 321 coming the other way.

Class..

Wins the prize!

Now I've got to clean my keyboard and screen!:D

Tee shot on our par 4 4th. A dog leg right with a stream at the dogleg. Aiming to lay up I hit my tee shot which flew straight and true but too high and hit a powerline - where it landed I don't know (if indeed it did land!)

My mate was doing a bit of chipping practice near a lot of parked cars…

He thinned one real bad, hit a tree, ricocheted around a bit, and then missed all the parked cars… Instead, it went straight through a car's open window that was driving past. Probably the most awkward conversation I have ever seen when he went to get it back from the dashboard :p :D

I've had a few.
1 I got my friend to video me one his camcorder to see what I was doing wrong. I sliced the ball it went out of bounds, hit a tree and cam back into the middle of the fairway. All caught on camera !

2 The very first time I played I said to my partner whats that pole for. He didn't know so I hit my shot and hit what was a bell (big lump of metal) and the ball came back behind me. We both instantly knew what it was for !

3 I played in a society day last winter and on the first tee I did a bouncing bomb across a frozen lake and the ball ended up halfway up the fairway. I did that twice that day and went on to win for the first time :-)

seen someone hit the bell aswell. he was about 10yards away and from my angle it looked likely. everyone fell around laughing when it happened.

Mine happened on Saturday before the snow came. Playing the par 4, 5th hole at tydd st giles. To lay the hole out the tee block is at the start of this lake and green is at the other end, a 320 yard carry roughly, fairway runs round the lake to the right hand side so normally you have to cross the lake twice depending how much you risk on your tee shot.

Anyway I went down to the lake whilst we were waiting and said you know what a golf ball wont go through that today, I might go for it, he considered and went nah I dont want to risk it so put his on the fairway. I load my ball up and smash it straight towards the green start seeing the ball bouncing on the lake towards the green, bounces 3 times before it lands on the other side just off the edge of the frozen water. Was very funny to watch as the group in front had obviously left the green and turned to watch this ball bouncing up and down on the ice. Never happen again like that if I tried another 100 times.
