Challenge Tour Pro
I've just bought a set of Ping i irons and wedges and often hit a 4-iron off the tee on shorted par 4's where the trouble is near the greens - I wondered if this crossover club would suit me as I did try some hybrids but could n't stop hooking them. What crossover do you have and how does it fit in to your club make-up? I carry a 3 wood but hardly ever hit it...
Kenny,
re the Crossover I tried both the 3 and the 4 and whilst the 3 was longer (obviously) the off line disbursement was greater, so I went with the 4 as my ultimate goal was better distance and hitting the fairway. I average about 215-220 with the Ping but if you get it rolling on hard ground etc I have had 240-250. (garmin s20) I use it as I am not 100% confident with the driver and on long par 3s. I never use a 3 wood or a hybrid. my 5 and 6 irons are good enough for me at the moment until I get confident with the smaller woods.
It gives a great flight, is easy to hit whether tee or off the deck and is nice when your PPs pull out a driver and you are only 20 or so yards behind them with an iron or land plum in the middle of a fairway!
