Not quite end of season but seeing as am in Portugal for the next nine days from Monday the season will be more or less done.
Finished 3 rd in the order of merit, which means nowt to me in the sense I don't know what an OOM Is.
Won my division 12 times and overall twice.
dropped one shot on the year from 21.4 - 20.2, lowest was 19.8.
played some excellent golf this year, with missed opportunities.

Season started really well. Finished 3rd in my 1st event. Rest of season didn't go to plan but enjoyed it and got lots to look forward to for next season

well played Tashy, but is your division chock full of players going the wrong way whose handicap hasnt caught up yet????

D-, AAC fails to pay attention and is easily distracted, he frequently gets into a winning position only to fail quite miserably, his constant bouts of shanking coupled with an outburst of what I assume to be tourettes, is most displeasing. On a more positive note his driving has improved to average and he is always a cheerful lad both in the bar and at the halfway hut.

I hope he will apply himself more next season and improve his grades accordingly.

Fundy I am a bit backsides when it comes to playing in the comps then waiting for the scores to go online. But when analysing the scores there are some, well not very good players and players that fluctuate between the two divisions ( 2 and 3 ).
If think a lot of these players that fluctuate are more or less playing around there hcap 18-20. A lot of the time ave won my divisions I have played to hcap with others no where. A lot of the times I have played to hcap, stupid holes have cost me a good reduction. When I drive the ball well I score well, but course management is my major problem. Not being a big hitter is a problem when our course is long.
All that aside, it has been a good year playing with my PP, having played some gorgeous courses inc Warrington, Tyneside, Wollaton, Bamburgh, Enniscrone and Carne to name but a few.
Oh ah met some good forum members along the way who have been more than happy to listen to some of my boring stories.

My season showed promise but couldn't quite get my hands on any silverware. Lost the county championship in a play off for the 2nd year running, made it to the semi finals of the county matchplay championship, 4th place in the club championship and top 10 in our 2 big opens.

A bit of a strange season for me.

After coming down quite easily over the first 4 seasons I have played, I hit a bit of a rock, mostly due to trying a new swing which I struggled with over the first half of the season and then struggled over the last half trying to find last year's swing finally starting to find it but with only one qualifier left its really too late. So performance wise a very poor season.

However, I have played some great courses for the first time, Carnoustie, most of the St Andrews ones including the Old course, and also some great inland courses, Beau Desert, Woodhall Spa, Lindrick to name a few. So on an experience side a very good season.

Still a few qualifiers to go so the tide could turn, but it's not been a good season.
An early win but nothing since, mainly 0.1s, a buffer or two but no cuts.
I've just not played well enough.
Not wishing t use it as an excuse but the Tennis Elbow that forced me to retire at last year's H4H is still bugging me and must be having an effect on my swing and a still sore knuckle on the right hand can't be helping either....
Having said that, I've shot par and a few low 70s in bounce games...so I can do it.

started bad , was introducing some changes , played well scored bad , went up to 9 .. steadied the ship a bit . good few rounds in the 70's lately has me back to 7.5 .. big push to get back to 7 or lower in the next couple of weeks ..

Season in general flew by , didn't enjoy most of the year , may put in work over the winter to improve

injury put paid to my golf this year ,although i did manage to get on the course twice in two days last week, and didnt i know it ,i cant say i played golf though as my scores would suggest i was playing a totally alien game to what i know i can play.
looking forward to getting more range work in over winter ,hopefully it will get my swing back on course.

Very similar to my school reports - could have done better.

Had high ambitions to get my 26 handicap down to around 22/23 but failed miserably. Lack of practice and playing week to week to get into a groove left me kind of restarting every time I played. Looking back I was maybe too hopefully as my course is very tough at times but would have hoped for a cut at some point but now upto 26.5!!

More homework needed, more attention to detail and just go out and play hole by hole.

C-

Very stop start season for me mainly health related and the hard work I did over the winter nullified by not really playing properly until April/May and then missing some weekends and comps. Some good stuff at times and a lot of rubbish and handicap crept up from 12.2 to 13.7. Hoping everything is heading the right direction and I can play and work on my game this winter and come out as a better golfer in 2017. Hoping for a season ending hurrah at H4H (but not holding my breath)

Started 7.3, finished 7.8. Played 15 qualifiers and I think there is 1 left.

10 X 0.1, 4 buffers and 1 cut. 7 of the 0.1's I missed buffer by 1 shot !!!!! You may aswell have just written 83 on my card before I teed off. Had several great Thursday rounds in our 12 hole pro's comp which saw me build up a bit of money in the pro shop.

Had as a top few days up in Scotland and am gonna have a top couple of days at h4h. Strange really, on reflection the season has gone in the blink of an eye but I have played quite a bit.

Hate winter.....leaving for work in the dark, then getting home in the dark.

Started the season full of confidence, the work in the winter/spring was showing signs of a lower handicap. Then, late April I was rushed in for a detached retina operation and lost several weeks play and when I did come back they swing changed slightly and became a struggle. The handicap was creeping from 11 to 12 and relentlessly towards 13, even though I was performing well in matchplay in the vets league team.

Anyway, i had a short lesson with our club pro who changed my iron play from a fade to a draw, and this week i managed a 41 pointer and a cut back to 11.6 - so pretty much status quo for the year and not so bad

It has been a good season for me. I've managed to change my swing quite considerably and reduce my handicap by 2 shots.

A bit meh.

Standard first round exit in the singles matchplay.

Played in an open where visitor CSS went high and got my an undeserved cut.

Went on a constant run of 0.1, before finding something of a swing 8 weeks ago, which has resulted in a decent 10 over round to get back to Category 2.

2 shots dropped this year, but I'd love to go a whole season without making major changes to my swing. Maybe next year.

Still, my handicap continues to drop, so I can't grumble.

It's been a great year in terms of meeting new people, making new memories, playing some new courses and general golf fellowship.

Less said about my performance the better but I always knew this year was going to be messed up due to my work and life schedule. Handicap started 11.5 and finished 11.2 - a tiny net gain that hides a miserable dip to 11.9 somewhere in the middle. I just never got to play as much as I would have liked.
