Something Peter Kostis said in commentary at the Wyndham Championship last night got me thinking.
He said (.... I'm paraphrasing by the way):
"Whatever your opinion of him, the game still needs Tiger Woods. 50,000 extra tickets have been sold this year compared to last"
I know he (... Tiger) divides opinion one here most, if not all, of the time but clearly he still has the draw of the paying American public, based on Peter Kostis comments.
Do you think the gate increase, is purely down to Tigers decision to play the event, or a combination of other factors?
Would you buy a ticket to go and watch a golf tournament, irrespective of who else was in the field, just because Tiger Woods was playing?
