Willett doesnt want to play golf

I think Danny is getting a bit of a hard time on here. They want there celebrities to be down to earth but when they are honest about how they are feeling they get crucified. Just because you have money doesn't make all problems go away. I also don't think he's getting credit for the work he has put in to get to where he is right now. It's almost like people think that someone just gave him his Masters title and world ranking.

Josh stop being so sensible - he's at the top so he needs knocking!! Only time will tell how good he really is but guess the extra pressure, money, 'celebrity' status is taking it's toll on him. Stills seems to be grinding out the practice and gym sessions if you go by his twitter page. Good luck to him, no one can take the green jacket away that he thoroughly deserved imo.

If you ask Zach Johnson he will tell you God gave him it. lol

I see DW is teeing it up at the Nedbank this week,he'll pick up some decent appearance money there but it all feels a bit sponsors commitments at the moment and no heart for sure.

The bloke has grafted for years (since early teens) forgoing many of the nice things we do when we're young and daft to reach a pinnacle in his profession. The demands in his time then spiraled out of control just as he was enjoying the brilliant gift of a young family. So he feels a bit burnt out and wants to enjoy the fruits of his labour away from the spotlight for a bit?? Wow, how selfish.

Aside from this and in general terms, we all deal with the stresses and strains in life (whatever they are) in different ways and common life events impact each of us in many varying ways. I think a little more generosity of spirit should go Danny's way here...

Not long finished reading this months article on him in the Golf Monthly Mag, my thoughts reading the article were that Willet came across tired and frustrated.

Comments such as "I thought it would be quicker than it has been to be honest." This was when he was asked how long did he think it would take to scale the heights in the pro game after being No.1 Amateur in the game. The majority of people didn't know who he was until he won the Masters, when in fact he has been on tour since May 2008.

He has lost all form since the Masters last year, had a terrible Ryder Cup, maybe an "injury" would be the best bet for him now to come back refreshed for the new season ahead.

No more qualifing ever again. Life is easy.
Where do you get that from?,theres plenty of former major winners that have dipped in form and still have to qualify for tours/events,granted he will always be able to play the Masters age permitting and short term will get invites as a former major winner but these dont last forever.

Not his biggest fan but his life is his to lead. We all have our own problems to deal, with some peoples worst than others, but they are real to us.

If he thinks he needs a break, and he's in a position to be able to, then he should take one. You make the decision based on your specific set of circumstances not because a single mum wouldn't be able to do the same.

Last year?

If you call €800,000 in prize money since the Masters a loss of all form you must be in a very well paid job sir.

Winning an unexpected Green Jacket has dragged a few backwards. Trevor Immelman - I followed him as he missed the cut at The Grove a few weeks ago. Charl Schwartzel has done very little in Majors ever since his win in 2011. Danny got unbelievably stitched up by his brother at the Ryder Cup - and that stigma won't go away quickly over there. The guys from No Laying Up in the recent McIlroy interview were saying that they had never heard abuse like it on a golf course. I think the lad is just keeping his head down for a while. He will perk-up again after defending his title next April.

I'm not talking about prize money, and I don't think prize money is the issue here. Danny Willet has lost form, fact. He missed the cut at the Dunhil links and then finished +2 at the weekend there in Turkey. His pocket may be lined with cash from the events but his actual form on the golf course isn't great at the moment.

Trevor Immelman was shopping for St Andrews souvenirs
ahead of me in a queue during the Alfred Dunhill this year,he is such nice genuine fella shame his game has never reached the heights it once did.

Not a good start to the season for DW being cut at +6 and coming 121st out of 126,the fella's woes continue but lets hope he can get it together for a Masters defence.

The funny thing is Peter finch said dw shot 4 under playing the same course in the pro am and admitted himself he didn't play well

All between the ears?

I know they change the pins but that's a heck of a difference

Easy in a pro-am for these guys. Not so much so when the heat is on. On a similar note what has happened to Eddie Pepperill? Another talented youngster who had to go to Q school last year and looks like he can't hit a barn door at the moment
