Who would be the most heartwarming major winner?

Beef or any other young 'un and hopefully it'll kick their own game on.

Mickelson has won plenty already.

Mickelson to complete the career grand slam would be special

Personally for me I'd love to see Shane Lowry win a major or for Harrington to get a fourth but I can't see the latter happening at all unfortunately

I don't care for Sergio at all so his lack of major success doesn't bother me

Immediately thought if Lee Westwood, but Ross Fisher would be great too.

He had that spell 10 years ago when I thought he might step up and make it really big, but it never quite happened.

I'd still swap his career over the last 10 years with mine any day but a major would be icing on the cake

😎

Not intended as nitpicking but its the US Open he needs for his GS, he got the PGA in 05' (at the same course they're playing now)

Westwood for me.

And what's all this love for Johnson? (I'm not getting into the calling him beef thing). He may look like the village idiot which he (mostly) can't help, but he doesn't need to act and talk like it too.

The question is a bit flawed, in terms of most "heartwarming" major win, it would be one of the old boys (Monty or JD for me). Look how gutted golf fans still are about the '09 Open, much more than any of Westwood or Garcias close calls.

In in terms of golfers I'd most like to see win a major in the future, I would love to see Sergio finally break his duck or Tiger to make a triumphant comeback.

My choices would be....
For the old duffers, who still could conceivably
win a major....
Got to Jimenez, can you imagine the post match festivities, :o

Journeyman pro....
Westy. Met him a couple of times over the years, at various does. Always came across as a good bloke.

Young uns....
Like almost everbody else, Beef. His obvious love of the game, mixed with a healthy dose of " i can't believe my luckery", are a delight to behold.

Thats my tuppence 'apenny anyway....:)
