I use the Wilson Triad, 3 piece ball with urethane cover that can usually be got for ~25 doz. I think it's a good compromise between cost and quality.
I'm thinking about them myself, nearly every review online is a positive oneI use the Wilson Triad, 3 piece ball with urethane cover that can usually be got for ~25 doz. I think it's a good compromise between cost and quality.
Chrome soft are premium balls. In the winter it's mid range stuff like Chromesofts, Tour Response and the like
Other times it's ProVs or TP5s of either standard or X version
If I find a Snell/Vice etc and it's the premium version then that'll go in the bag.
#1 ball for me most of the time is the Mizuno RB Tour...virtually the same as a ProV1 but I got them for 30 quid a dozen....
Are you a bomber? For the first time ever I bought the Titleist 4 for 3 offer at the start of last season. Got 4 dozen Pro V1x Left Dash and somehow still have 2 dozen left. Also have a dozen Pro V1's from when I took out the club pro's 4 for 3 offer on lessons with a dozen Pro V1's thrown in.
Don't know if it was the change of ball to the left dash or the change of course to a links but I lose way less balls and my handicap dropped 2.6 shots this season.
The YouTube videos that I've watched say virtually no difference between the new ball and the previous one but the 'ambassadors' have to say it's much better. Our pro has just put a Facebook post out saying he has been fitted for the new all singing all dancing 2025 ProV1. He has changed from the Pro V1x. Ave told him I will do him a favour and get rid of his old rubbish ones by losing them on the course.
Not heard owt back from him yet.
That said, if folk are prepared to spend £550 for a new driver to hit it 8 yds further. Would it not be cheaper to just upgrade to a ball that will do that![]()
Most balls go the same distance pretty much. The real variance comes down to strike. No, I’m the shortest in our group. Are you a bomber?
I’m not, tried the left dash and I didn’t like it all.
Not a fan of pro v1x, much prefer the regular pro v1. Too much spin with the x for me.
Just another version of a ProV1. Lower flight/spin I believeA lot of talk about left dash, what is it?
It's like how the ProV1x used to be before 2017, it flies higher and has less spin. In 2017 Titleist changed the balls around where the V1x became the higher spin, higher launch ball and the V1 became the lower launch lower spin ball.A lot of talk about left dash, what is it?

Was at a driver fitting maybe 10 years ago, my spin was high at the time. The pro doing the fitting pretty much said the same thing, instead of spending big money on a low spin shaft he said to try out a lower spin ball. Used the Srixon XV for a while after that and it made a big difference alright, gained a few yards. Our pro has just put a Facebook post out saying he has been fitted for the new all singing all dancing 2025 ProV1.
